    Speedglas 9002NC Welding Helmet ?

The 9002nc is a good hood, for the price you'd be hard pressed to find a better one. If you end up going with a 9100 series, get a 9100xxi and skip the rest. If you are willing to wait a bit, Speedglas has the new G5-01 that is coming out and looks pretty killer.

    Speedglas 9002NC Welding Helmet ?

It's pretty much the same hood as the 9002 has always been, but with the improved filter that shows natural colors. I have a 9100xxi, and it's a great hood. I also have an Esab Sentinel, it's also a very nice hood. If I had to choose one, it would be the Speedglas because I like the side windows...

    Astro BOGO deal

I received my set from Astro today. I'm in rural Idaho, so it took a bit longer than others to arrive. For being budget friendly hex and torx sets, not even considering the BOGO, I'm pretty impressed with them so far. Time will tell how they will hold up, but they seem like they'll be reliable.

Hex L-keys (Wera, Wiha, Bondhus, Eklind)

My favorite hex wrenches are Wera's. The Hex plus feature that they have has proven to be beneficial to me several times, when I could get a bolt out that other hex wrenches couldn't. The other brand that I've used several times and have been impressed with is PB Swiss wrenches, I don't own them...

Excellent, thanks for responding with the info!

A cheaper (and stronger) m12 fuel 1/4" stubby impact wrench.

Do you have a link to where you bought the anvil? I'd like to do this too, but I'm having trouble finding the anvil for it. Thanks.

    Tools of Japan

Yes, the Zeal shallow sockets are shorter than just about any other sockets with respect to the drive size. The Zeal sockets are in my opinion the nicest sockets on the market right now. Everything about them is excellent.

Best Torx Bit's (Small used to take apart knives)

I'm a fellow knife nut. I have tried many if the premium torx drivers out there, and the Wera HF are my favorite. They fit snug in the screws and I never feel like they are going to strip with the Wera HF. I tried Wiha first based off of all of the positive feedback on here, but they didn't live...

    HF Merlin High Flow Couplers

Go to Walmart and buy the Tru-Flate kit. It's $7.84 and is the same kit, just different color. It's a good kit, but I like my Stedlin fittings and couplers better.

Need a new welding helmet; what's good these days?

I use a Speedglas 9100xxi. I've tried a bunch of different hoods, my company runs a welding supply shop out of the front so I've been able to weld with nearly every popular or premium hood. The ESAB sentinel is a flash/fancy hood, but 3 of my co-workers use them and all 3 have had to have them...

My attempt to make a better hose coupler

This week I was able to put a QuietHose adaptor and an orbital coupler on my air line, fantastic products. The QuietHose is awesome, I can't believe what a difference it makes in the noise level. I am interested in the Stedlin high flow fittings when they are available, with these work with...

    Best long flexible 1/4 ratchet?

You want a Nepros ratchet. They make amazing ratchets and I reach for mine over everything else I have, especially with 1/4" drive. The 90 tooth ratchets they make are silky smooth and the handles are really comfortable.

    Koken or Williams USA

Based on your response, I'd recommend the Ko-ken sockets over the Williams. The Ko-ken sockets have the finish that you prefer, and the finish is quite nice. Also, Ko-ken has a larger selection of sockets then any other manufacturer in the world (if my understanding is correct), so you will...

    Koken or Williams USA

Between the two brands, I feel that it is a bit of a toss up. I have a fair amount a Snap-on sockets (i.e. Williams USA) as well as a few set of Ko-ken sockets, and they both have their strong points. Snap-on sockets have a higher polish on the chrome that I prefer. The flank drive broaching is...

    Snap on round head ratchet

I have the 1/4" and 3/8" Snap-on flex round head ratchets, and I love them. They feel a bit different than a dual80 ratchet, but they are really smooth and take plenty of abuse. Another consideration for the 3/8" version is that it's a 100 tooth ratchet so the swing Arc is 3.6 degrees vs the...

Want to get a couple new ratchets

I have to agree that the Snap-on dual80 ratchets are one of the best ratchets available. The plethora of options also makes finding the right ratchet for your needs easy too. For anyone wanting a ratchet with low back drag and is smooth as silk, get a Snap-on Fzero or Tzero ratchet. I have...

    Husky 80 inch toolbox

Hey Julius, I had a question about the top drawer on your box. Does it have a slide on the bottom of the drawer for support, or does it have metal stiffeners on it? If it has stiffeners, are they running the long or short way? I’m curious since the top drawer is so big, it has the potential to...

    Husky 80 inch toolbox

Thanks for the update. This is still my top contender for my next tool box, and your thoughts confirm mine. I have seen a lot of people (including the Real Tools Review guy, but I disagree with a lot of his thoughts in the review/comparison) complain about the rigid casters in the middle. Can...
