    All About LISTA Cabinets

Thanks! A lot of time went into figuring out the details. The floor is Conductive ESD Vinyl Tile. The tile is thick enough it has a little anti-fatigue effect and the we do a lot of sensitive electronics testing, so ESD was a requirement.

    All About LISTA Cabinets

I'll drop a few pics of the Lista furnished Lab I just completed at work (unfortunately I need to take pics now that we're fully moved in). We added a mezz structure, fully enclosed it, and turned it into a fully climate and ESD controlled space. The only part that really ***** are the ESD...

Thank you all for all the suggestions! I have some shopping to do.

    Satin Finish Wrenches and Ratchets

I completely agree. We have a few sets of Wright wrenches around the lab and I was not impressed with their finish compared to the Toptul's I have at home. These will be rarely used and almost always in the electronics lab (although sometimes I get pulled over to fix something on the production...

    Satin Finish Wrenches and Ratchets

What are some good good wrenches, ratchets, and sockets available in satin finish? I have a few from Toptul that I really like, but wren tools has very few options (plus I'm not sure if Mike is still in the game). I also have some Wera ratchet kits, but again... not many options. Thanks! It's...

Quality made screwdriver set in a case

This would be my vote: http://pbtoolsus.thomasnet.com/viewitems/interchangeable-sets/pb-8515-allrounder-31-tools-in-one? The small screwdriver and bits can be unsnapped from the big kit if you just need to work with pots, terminals, phoenix connectors, etc. I carry the small screwdriver set...

Metal Shop Building, Needs FM Antenna

In case anyone is interested - This is the best AM/FM antenna I have come across and I deal with the problem of getting radio signal down into basement mechanical rooms for racks of equipment for work. http://www.pixelsatradio.com/product/ultimate-am-fm-antenna-combo-2/ This antenna also ships...

Looking for internet access solutions for a shop 300 feet away

Here is a good place to purchase Ubiquity from http://www.balticnetworks.com/manufacturers/ubiquiti.html The products are insanely good for the price. Also, be careful running cat5e or cat6 as the max distance for copper based ethernet is 100 meters.

    tool for tiny torx screws?

I have this set for my everyday tools. The small precision set (which is removable from the full size kit) has never failed me. These are easily some of my favorite screwdrivers. http://pbtoolsus.thomasnet.com/viewitems/interchangeable-sets/pb-8515-allrounder-31-tools-in-one?

    My Sears rant

I don't disagree that the store employees should be more knowledgeable than the majority are, but Sears does have a website that lets you easily check the local stores' stock level. The website even lets you pay for the part online and then pick it up from the willcall counter by the warehouse...

    Finally started my garage project.

Very nice build. Where are the in-wall subs for the garage? ;) I am very impressed that your integrator is able to get C4 to handle all of the more complex automation that you described. He must really know his C4 stuff (and like doing a lot of clicking and dragging). What are you running for...

Broken Gear in garage opener, should get new one?

The top chain sprocket just broke off of my old opener and I ended up just replacing the whole thing since ours didn't have the safety sensors (and we have an 18month old) and Sears had a new opener kit on sale for $140 that included 2 remotes and a wireless keypad. Each transmitter is around...

    Titanium Hammers

I used a stilleto titanium hammer when I was framing houses all day and it sunk nails just as well as a 20oz steal hammer. It, however, was not nearly as successful at persuading walls when straitening them or sucking them together for tight corners. I the part of the reason it worked really...

    Toptul Reviews

The toptul cuts really well. The kleins are a few years old and well used, so I can't really do a fair comparison. I can say the Toptul cut through a #6 drywall screw and green lee metal fish tapes really easily.

First Time Compressor Buyer - Craigslist Ad

I picked up the compressor today and managed to talk the seller down a little bit. His garage was spotless and he had already gone through the touble of testing everything and putting brand new oil in the compressor before I got there, so I think I got a good deal. Here are a few pics just...
