    What is so special about ChannelLock?

    Channel lock makes very good pliers for the money. Their long reach needle nose pliers are great. The jaws don't flex when you need a lot of force. I use thos pliers all the time.

    I wonder if one could screw in a piece of soft plastic or wax and measure the thread after it was removed. Inserting another bolt makes sense. But sometimes it is hard to tell after the thread has been damaged....?

    Have not tried Knipex. Personally I use a variety of different snap-ring pliers. The OTC snap ring pliers are okay. But OTC tools are way over priced.
