I live in a house with pine walls. It has white outlets and switches. I decided to switch it over to brown switches and outlets with wood covers. I ordered 25 brown outlets and 28 brown switches from an electrical supply house through Ebay. They were scheduled to arrive today so I took off...

I have a mid-rise lift - what transmission jack do you recommend?

I have the #2 one, simply because it was cheap and I very rarely need to drop a trans. Value per dollar, it has earned its keep. It has come in handy for other things. Just a few weeks ago, I replaced the rear beam bushings on my GTi. I put the car up on the lift.. slid the jack under...

New vintage tools! Oxymoron. Don't know anything about them.

If you found a CD labeled as vintage 1992, that would be 100% correct. Proper use of vintage is interchanged with 'year'. CD for sale, vintage 2008, year 2008, both correct. Used as a generic term for old, incorrect.

Help me with this cool old large pedestal grinder

Such as? Silly as it sounds, I've never bought a single grinding wheel, although I have had probably 4-5 grinders in my life. By the time I wear them down, I've somehow acquired another grinder.

Help me with this cool old large pedestal grinder

Details please? My brother in law is handy with electric, and wired up two 220 outlets in the garage to run my compressors. He is busy shuffling his kids to sports these days, and says my normal bench grinder is perfectly fine and I would be wasting my money on this. I don't have any kids...

New vintage tools! Oxymoron. Don't know anything about them.

New vintage is not an oxymoron. Vintage used correctly should be associated with a date. It is not meant to mean old as common usage has become. Example- you can have a vintage 2008
