    About the only thing I did differently was I screwed and glued all the laminates on both sides. I have a tremendous amount of wind up on this ridge. Short of building them out of steel tubing, I figured this was best. They are going to be painted so all the holes will be filled and covered.

    Thanks Buick Farmer.... The carriage doors are all pine based on a design and assembly by a member here on GJ. I'm in Maine, I only want to do this once, so yes the footings are deep to be on virgin ground...on the back side of the building there is 4ft of fill.... 800 yds total to get it...

    This weekend the roof was finished, major hurdle accomplished. 44 squares of shingles. Now to concentrate on the siding and electrical.

    Roofer came in yesterday, started around 2pm and in a couple hrs they have already got so much done. It's definitely a good idea to leave some things to a professional.
