    GearWrench in the future?

Majority of my sockets are GW brand and I've had awesome results, BUT I will admit, I DON'T use them everyday like some of the guys on here. With that being said, will guys that purchased a ton of GW stuff reap benefits of better replacements in the future if the company increases QC beyond what...

    GearWrench in the future?

Do you think GearWrench is going to be the next biggest "middle class" tool manufacture? After going to Sears today, Craftsman seems like its going downhill rapidly and truck brands sourcing more and more from overseas. It seems like GearWrench is getting bigger and bigger every year. They offer...

"BIG Radial Drill Presses" Who has one in their home shop, & do you use it much ?

Re: "BIG Radial Drill Presses" Who has one in their home shop, & do you use it much ? What type of info are you wanting? I'd hate to know how many holes I've drilled on a radial. I can't remember any exact dimensions, but at work we have 2 that's pretty close in size. Maybe an 8' swing, and...

    GearWrench 15pc Socket Set

Figured somebody might be interested. Not a whole lot of interest these days in SAE, but I wrench on some older stuff. We'll see how these look when they come in.

    GearWrench 15pc Socket Set

1/2" Drive, 12 point, 7/16"-1 1/2". Being sold by Cripes on their ebay page. According to the counter, 3 left. I've had great results as a weekend warrior with my GearWrench stuff. For 26.50 shipped, I think its a steal...

    Fire Extinguisher Recommendations?

Thanks guys, lots of information getting shared in this thread. Hopefully somebody will read this thread, and convince themselves they also need an extinguisher in the shop. Also, just to clarify on my end, I never poured gas into my carb, just what was pumping out of the accelerator pumps...

    Fire Extinguisher Recommendations?

I feel like an idiot for not having 1 already. As safety paranoid as I am at times, and not having an extinguisher at hand. I've seen plenty of pictures where guys lose their belongings because of something like this. I was thinking something happened to Halon? I know it was being used in race...

    Fire Extinguisher Recommendations?

To make a long story short, I got an old Mustang that I crank up every so often while it sits for now. When it sits for any amount of time, it takes a minute to get fuel primed back up, and to get some heat in her so she will run. Well for some reason, she spit back up and caught some fuel that...

    Long Reach Pliers?

I also wonder why Channellock doesn't offer long reach. You would think they would've invented the things.

    Jegs $20 off $100

I just received an email from Ebay. I added a wheel to my Ebay shopping cart and sure enough, it took off $20. I'm not entirely sure what all Jegs offers on their Ebay account, but for some of you it might be worth looking into.

Must not be to great if GJ doesn't have an opinion on ATD.

    Long Reach Pliers?

Anybody using ATD pliers? I'm looking at the 4pc long reach set, just don't know enough about the brand to pull the trigger. I know they're imports, and I try to buy American when possible, but I also try to get the best bang for my buck. Also contenders would be the 2pc Proto set on Ebay, and...

    Channellock 209 9-inch oil filter/PVC plier - $9.99 Amazon

I wouldn't consider them to small to use. IMO, you should be able to generate enough torque to get a filter off. These things might be a gem in tight engine bays.

    Channellock 209 9-inch oil filter/PVC plier - $9.99 Amazon

I received my order today also. A little smaller than what I envisioned, but like mentioned above, an oil filter should be a low torque application. The plus side is, these might get you out of a situation where as the bigger set's might be hitting a frame rail or some type of mount. Also mine...

    Etf?

This site has some serious tool guys here, and it got me to wondering. Does anybody have an "Emergency Tool Fund"? I know a bunch of you here have accounts with the truck brands, so putting a tool on credit is pretty easy, but how about the DIY, Weekend Warriors, Shade Tree Mechanics, all the...

Is this a joke? $120 Socket

At work we use a hydraulic ratchet that works with hardware that big. The name of the machine we use is HYTORC, actually very easy to use just have to position the "stop" right. We've actually gotten away from regular 6 point nuts and gone to what's called a SUPERBOLT. Its amazing how tight a...

    Machinist tool scores...post 'em up!

I scored a Blake Co-Ax for $20 and a Brown & Sharpe square/12" scale for $4 at the same pawn shop. The co-ax seemed to had been sitting for a while, but looked brand new. After a little lube, she works like new.

    Channellock 209 9-inch oil filter/PVC plier - $9.99 Amazon

My order hasn't shipped yet, but still showing a 10/3-10/5 delivery date. Hope it doesn't get pushed back, actually going to need them this coming weekend. I wish Amazon wouldn't "hold" a package, I guess its the price you pay for free shipping though.

    socket rails

I've bought a good many GearWrench sockets myself and I also like the rails. I was going to buy a set of Kobalt socket trays, but I just like the rails better. Don't take up near the room, and can pick up a rail and go.
