Well, I finally got around to doing the job and used your idea of cutting notches for the urethane strip.
I also used this to **** against the door before applying the weatherstrip. It is EPDM so very durable. So in effect, there is a double seal...
I'm looking to install one in my attached insulated garage. Sort of like the size of an old steam radiator.
It would be fed from a circulator from my oil boiler.
Any tips on makers or where to look are greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much!
Ha! I just did this last week.
I borrowed a truck (from my mechanic) that has a plastic bedliner to pick it up with. My thought was to hire a ramp truck w/ a winch to pull it on the ramp then back into the garage and lower it.
My mechanic said to save my money.
He told me the plastic was...
Ok,
I think it came out nice. $15. worth of Rustoleum Industrial Gray and 30 min. with a wire cup brush on a rotary grinder, and she turned out ok.
It only came with one shelf so I cut some leftover Advantech to size. Since I dont have any shelf pins I'll probably just drill through the...
Looks like you have a good handle on things, and plenty of space.
My question to you is this; How at the age of 33 with a wife and two children were you able to acquire all those tools and equipment?
Regards,

Except for the wiring mess it looks great, I'm jealous. We won't get to insulate and drywall until next year.
That must have been a pain to drywall up to the peak in those small quarters.
Is the cupola the venting type?
It looks great!
Regards,
Well, it cleaned up OK so I'm going to spruce it up. First I'll hit it w/ a wire wheel, some primer and a top coat. I had a 4'x4' piece of Advantic left over and have cut it to make two shelves.
It should work fine to store my woodworking power tools.

It is heavy and built well, that's the dilemma. Seems too nice to throw out. The first poster is right, it will never be anything nice to look at. I looked on CL and saw cabinets like it selling for $150, much nicer w/ shelves.
I've got too many projects as it is.
I might just see what she...
It was a freebie. It has been outside for a few years used as fuel storage.
Just one shelf, some rust through on the bottom lip of one door as shown. Bottom shelf has just surface rust, seems pretty solid otherwise.
I'm thinking not a full resto, just a wire wheel a little primer and paint...
The building inspector signed off today . . YEA!
He did tell me he wants a guard on the stairs and might pay me a visit sometime to see if I did install one.
No electric for now, I’ll just use an extension cord for the battery tenders as they don’t draw much amperage. In the winter I’m not...
I built one almost exactly like that with a pallet floor about 25 years ago. It was 12'x16' and open on one side.
I left the bottom 18" open all around and it really helped w/ airflow which seasoned the wood better.
There is a garage in it's place now.

This pic is after the second coat of poly - third went on tonight. It takes less than an hour to lay coat down.
It is starting to look like glass. . . while that was not my intention, it is easy to do and since it is a garage I don't really care so much if some dirt/bugs get in it.
The coupe...
