Above 1200 Sq/FT building my BIG PARTY garage

Hey Don, I've been following this thread for years. I posted on one of your build threads but this is my first post on this one... mostly because I'm pretty much awestruck by your incredible Party Garage and projects and haven't felt I've had anything to say that hadn't already been said...

Good Morning Bob, Just spent a few minutes getting caught up with your thread... thanks for posting the stories about the items on your wall. It's a very cool display. I hope to be doing something similar in my garage soon. And, sorry to hear about your adventures with your Costco card. I...

Your new workspace looks great! The view from Mickey's side is pleasing as well... So, the plan is to install the new cabinets under the carport? They will give you a ton of storage that will be easily accessible! Nice score on those!!! ...D

Quite a transformation! As I've said before... nicely done! As I was in the big city yesterday, I did something I don't often do... went for a coffee. I don't pass this place often but, each time I do, I think of your "brand" of petrol... In my estimation, their logo would be perfect for...

    Floating/wall mounted U.S. General Toolboxes

I didn't even mean to imply that a large tool box was the same as a kitchen cabinet. The point i was trying to make (but obviously didn't) is that a relatively flimsy box made of plywood and held to a wall with a hand full of wood screws... with no other means of support... is capable of...

    Floating/wall mounted U.S. General Toolboxes

I think that if you incorporate Kay's idea of adding a strip of 1/4" flat bar across the (inside) top of your boxes, your plan will work. Personally, I stopped using "lags" long ago. There are a variety of newer fastners that are far superior in strength and holding force and are easier to...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Garage Refurb®

Seems that, all too often, I'm returning one thing or another that just doesn't work. Paying good money for **** is not only aggravating, it takes time to return the defective stuff and hope to find something that will get the job done. Your build is looking great... You've made incredible...

    ...and so it begins

So, I walked over to the contractor area and checked out the VersaTube structures... I'll have to admit, on my list of preferred building methods, this would be toward the bottom. But, in theory, they should go up relatively quickly and I'll have to admit that I see a surprising number of...

    ...and so it begins

When I started my thread about this time last year, my intent was to add a bay to the east end of my garage. You know what they say about good intentions paving the road to somewhere or another... For the first week or two, things were moving along pretty well... til my misses and I came down...

    ...and so it begins

Hey Jay, My pup has healed... it only cost me $150 for the trip to the vet the day I got home. She had a pretty nasty laceration in her right "armpit". Vet cleaned it and prescribed antibiotics. She was limping a bit for the first couple of days but all is well now. Of course, the deadbeat...

    ...and so it begins

Mike, You're right about my lack of posting... I've had a difficult time trying to convince myself to get going again. One thing is that I haven't really had time to work on any projects... other than legal matters. And, apparently, I just wasn't ready to talk about things. I hope you...

    ...and so it begins

Hey Jay, You must've read my mind. I've been thinking I need to resurrect my thread and now, I think I'm ready to do that. In the last post where I was talking about the work I had been doing, I was making an effort to get a few things finished up so I could get back to my place in Wyoming...

Ridiculous or not insulated garage doors. Need advice.

I've done the retro-fit version on the doors on my current garage. Installing the ridgid foam insulation is the easy part... once done, you'll need to protect the foam from damage, dirt, sparks, etc. I'm STILL looking for the answer to that one. The best answer would be light gauge aluminum...
