    Every two years dead dehumidifier

Bought a Frigidaire about 4 years ago. 50 pint model. Wemt to fire it up this year and got the dreaded 'FO" error code. Troubleshot it as best I could, i.e. proper voltage at outlet, screen clean, etc. Still won't remove the moisture. I have to check the paperwork as I seem to remember it having...

    HF Paint Sprayer

Thanks for the advice and sorry for the late reply. Such a small area, really, so that makes good sense.

    HF Paint Sprayer

https://m.harborfreight.com/household/paint/5-gph-electric-paint-spray-gun-63452.html. Anyone use this? Got to remove old and repaint exterior foundation. Maybe 150SF. Has average reviews but maybe due to improper cleaning. Should I just roll it on or take a shot? Looking to go as cheap as...

    HF Panel/Trim Removal Tool Set

Agreed; I will definitely buy a pin assortment, as well. Because, as we all know, they always break when we don't have spares.

Didn't even see those before, thanks for the link. Looks like that will fit my needs, as well

    HF Panel/Trim Removal Tool Set

Looks like a decent set for $15 w/ 25% coupon. Anyone here like this or, if not, recommendations? Only use for me and wifeys Subarus. Are they any good at pulling the plastic pins w/out breaking? Plus, for occasional door panel removal. Please share your experiences...

I bought _________, because of Garage Journal.

HF 5 drawer tool cart, one of the few things that I EVER bought where the numerous positive reviews were spot-on for me. Also, Tekton and HF handtools, HF heat gun, HF oscillating tool, bolt extractors, auto trim pry tools, etc. Probably only spent $5-600 but substantially made my life easier in...

stuck oil pan plug on new Subaru crosstrek

I'm sure if I used the correct approach, it would have come off a lot easier. Again, my '14 outback came off quickly but I was still surprised how much force I used for that one. Plus, both pans are steel and pan threads weren't damaged at all.

stuck oil pan plug on new Subaru crosstrek

All I know is he was having a hard time. As luck would have it, the Snap-On truck pulled up. Whatever he bought got it off. I felt funny to ask cause I feel he might think I would get that same tool. You know, trade secrets, like "secret ingredients". Of course, with the Fumoto, that is...

stuck oil pan plug on new Subaru crosstrek

Yup, especially in my area! But, I've used him for years and, I gotta say, his prices were always fair, great work and never had to do a bring back on any of his jobs. Always done once, done right

stuck oil pan plug on new Subaru crosstrek

I'm back! my mechanic took it off after about 20 mins. I know I approached this foolishly... bad angle, no good leverage, should've raised the car, etc. That's how we learn sometimes by making mistakes. I was in a rush and, again, like I said before, NEVER had an issue in the past...

stuck oil pan plug on new Subaru crosstrek

I used the Irwin BoltGrips which had the proper size. Even tried to use the next lowest size but the head wasn't rounded enough to hammer it on

stuck oil pan plug on new Subaru crosstrek

I did use the correct socket which, in this case, is 14mm. Socket was a never used Tekton on a 3/8 ratchet and breaker bar, which are rarely used. I know that working on it without better clearance wasn't the best move but, as I said earlier, I NEVER had an issue in over a 100 changes...

stuck oil pan plug on new Subaru crosstrek

I wasn't looking to demand anything from the dealer. I accept the blame because I rounded the plug. I didn't have proper clearance or leverage. That's on me 100%. I will take it to my mechanic since I don't want to fuk it up any more. Thanks for all the replies. Lesson learned

stuck oil pan plug on new Subaru crosstrek

I'm not a mechanic by any means but I have never had an issue doing oil changes before this. I like to replace the stock plug with a Fumoto valve so I never have to worry about removing/stripping the plug. Of course, first time for everything. Guess my best bet is my mechanic

Nope. Saw a video of a guy loosening the plug. Standard thread, not reverse

stuck oil pan plug on new Subaru crosstrek

Fill cap and filter no problem! Just Thor with his impact wrench on the plug. I let engine cool down for a few hours so the oil and pan could get cool, too. My '14 outbacks plug came off much easier. Needed some muscle but was off in 3 seconds using only a ratchet. Maybe this is Subarus...

stuck oil pan plug on new Subaru crosstrek

I was going to do wifeys' 1st oil change on a '17 Subaru crosstrek but the oil plug was factory torqued way too tight. Tried 6pt socket, breaker bar and, after rounding off the head, even Irwin bolt grips with no luck. Also tried box end of wrench and head is too rounded to get a grip...
