Just be aware the lengths will get shorter as you use it, so 1st piece is 4" and last piece is 1.25" Just as an example.

From the angle it looks like something was set on it during shipping. if its not dented and you don't want to go through the hassle of calling the supplier I would get some rubbing compound and see if it rubs out.. a light coat of wax and be done.

I am still running on an older Metcal Over 26 years old and still going strong. Tips range from SMT to full on 8ga soldering. Usually find them at auctions for cheap because people have no idea what they are.
