    Padlocking service disconnect box (exterior)?

As others mentioned, padlock is fine. I like the idea of the alarm contact, but I'd place the wireless contact indoors and hard wire to a magnetic contact on the disconnect as it will be more weather resistant. Many wireless contacts have terminals for this purpose.

    electrical ?, 130foot extension cord

For your own home use this isn't necessary. If this were a permanent installation you would have to, as the 20 amp receptacles indicate that there is 20 amps available. (There is a code article for this requirement but it doesn't seem necessary/ appropriate here)

Knipex 09 02 240 High Leverage Lineman New England Head Comfort Grip $19.99

I ordered a pair as well. Thanks for the link. I blew up this same pair (1 day old) about 8 years ago and haven't seen them for sale locally since. I currently use a pair of knipex NE style high leverage with the crimper and the thin red coated handles.

    Header for 18' Door??

An opening as described would likely be a shear wall and there will be a lot of design considerations to be made. I wasn't making any specific statements, more of a general statement. I'm also in a an area that typically sheaths with structural wood panels. A lot of standard practices vary...

A/C and gas heat in one unit?

Most efficient initial cost or to run? A high efficiency natural gas heater will be more efficient than the mini split heat pump.

    Header for 18' Door??

I agree that the building supplier can give you true LVL specs. Though what the OP describes should be adequate. I don't agree that it is better to place them at top plate height. It would work fine, but that is not the standard framing practice and you would be relying on nails or some...

Sub panel installed. How does it look?

The only real problem with terminating 2 grounded conductors under one terminal is if one has to work on one of the circuits and needs to keep the other circuit energized. (This is why the CMP added the article in 2002 from all of my info) If listed and properly terminated, there will not be a...

Sub panel installed. How does it look?

I guess time flies. (I thought the change was in 2008 - it was actually 2002) This article 408.41 was originally introduced as 408.21 in the 2002 NEC. Prior to 2002, "Switchboards and Panelboards" were located in article 384. The current text of 408.41 which was formerly located in 408.21...

    Attached or detached.

I would consider that an attached garage for the purpose of both building and electrical codes. I am a full time building inspector and part time wiring inspector. It would have no bearing on whether the breezeway is conditioned. I can cite a number of code articles to substantiate, but won't...
