    What box is this?

    Probably a Waterloo.

    Budget jumbo wrenches

I don't have my set of Northern wrenches handy. A little comparison of a 2" SK to a 2" no name. The Northern should fall right between the two.

    Budget jumbo wrenches

For budget big wrenches, I'd recommend Northern. Your typical import big wrench set skips a few sizes that I tend to need. Nice thing with Northern is they stock all the sizes individually so you can fill in any sizes you need. With big wrenches, there is a noticeable difference between import...

What are 1 3/8 and 1 5/16 wrenches used for? (please share what you use them for))

Hydraulic fittings are what comes to mind. I know I use both sizes regularly enough that I wouldn't be without them.

How to identify Craftsman Griplatch in pics?

The griplatch was only offered on the higher end 18" deep boxes as well as the larger pro series. There was a lowerline of ball bearing slide boxes that didn't have griplatch. The boxes tend to have the rectangler craftsman badge and griplatch decal. They were offered in the different color...

Does it still make sense to buy 3/4 drive tools?

It really depends on what you work on. I don't use my 3/4" much, but it is handy to have. I rebuild a lot of hydraulic cylinders that require anything from an 1 5/8 to 2 1/2" socket for the piston bolt. No matter how strong you think your 1/2" impact is, a decent 3/4" is much more powerful. Even...

    Gearwrench Pocket Prybar

Maybe it's just personal preference, but I like the snap on better. I use it for everything from prying and scrapping as well as a screwdriver. It is just the right size that I cannuse it on Phillips that aren't super tight. Maybe it is just that I find the Mac awkward to use as a screwdriver...

    Gearwrench Pocket Prybar

Spent the $20 or so on a snap on pocket screwdriver. I have the mac mini prybar as a back up at work in cause I forget my snap on some how. The mac is fine, but I like the snap on screwdriver so much I feel naked without it. My argument maybe mute because I know nothing about the GW mini prybar...

need recommendations for a good 10 ton porta power

They are pretty much all the same. You can go high dollar, but a good chunk of Enpac is imported now.

What do you put behind the injected molded trays, like the thin ones from Snapon

I'd figure about 90% of mine have hit the garbage can before I ever put the tools in my box. I see them as nothing but a waste of space. The few select tools I have kept in the tray have held up just fine over the years.

    Snapon krl trend

Snap on does offer the 54" master with full width drawers. It's part of their tool control series of boxes. Not sure if you could order the box without the inventory tracking system, but it is out there.

    AvE: Best Tool Battery

I find pProject Farm good in small doses. A comparison I'm interested in is a good watch. Otherwise afterwhile he gets kind of dry. As for Ave, I do enjoy his ramblings and way of talking about stuff. If he had a podcast, I bet I would enjoy it. Yeah some of his teardown videos get kind of...

    AvE: Best Tool Battery

He has pryed all those batteries apart in the past when doing a tear down on that brand of tool. This was more just a quick round up of his opinion from what he has seen.

    Missing tool...hope I'm not alone!

It happens to me sometimes. I left auto to go into equipment over 15 years ago. There are speciality auto tools I haven't used in years. The stuff gets moved 3 or 4 time to make room for stuff I use now. Then one day I need my fuel line disconnect kit to change a fuel filter on a car and I'll...

    Snapon krl trend

I bought my krl1022 right when the double top drawers came out. Dealer had it on the truck and gave me a price I couldn't pass up. I wanted the single wide drawer 1001 because I thought the extra 4" drawers would be more handy. While I like the look of the 1001 better even to this day, the 1022...

    MAC EDGE series boxes

From what I can tell comparing specs, the mac edge series and Craftsmam 3000 series are basically the same box with different drawer design and layout. If the Craftsmam didn't have such a stupid drawer arrangement I'd point you that way. The bit I have played with the edge boxes on the truck...

Whats your best guess for tool collection replacement cost?

I'd say it's whatever $100 a week for 20 years comes too. Never really took the time to figure the actual investment.

    Longer Breaker Bar?

From my experience, breaker bars snap the drive and sliding tee bars bend the shaft.

    1-3/16” socket and wrench size

Make sense Cat would. I have noticed they like odd sizes. My 16mm wrenches get a work out on Cats. Now that you say it, I d remember 30 mm on Cats.

    Longer Breaker Bar?

If a 24" 1/2" breaker bar isn't enough, time to buy 3/4" drive. The long 1/2" bars flex too much on hard pulls. I pretty my just use my 36" 1/2" drive snappy to hold against impacts on through bolts.
