Has anyone got their refund from Wesco tools?

At a previous job when I worked the customer counter we had to tell customers that it may take up to 30 days for the credit to show up in their account even when we were running their card through the machine. Most likley it is your credit card company causing the delay if the vendor has issued...

    Insulating window gaps

+1 on the DAP product. Used quite a bit of it 6 yrs ago when we put new mouldings around all the windows and doors. Huge difference in air flow. Almost eliminated window sweating. Had to put in a make up air kit for the furnace. Clean up was easy as well.

    Calcuim In Concrete

Would suggest contacting the cement yard where the contractor is getting your concrete. Ask if they have an alcohol based accelerator instead of the calcium chloride. If they do not, ask how much you would need for your job and if they would be willing to have their drive add it onsite in the...

    Permit for any size shed

At the beginning of this year our township instituted a new code for sheds. Any shed over 25 sqft needs to have a permit pulled and drawings submitted. Level of drawing detail varies based on size of shed. My neighbor found out the hard way a few days after I helped carry out the the base frame...

    whats the reason for this?

It sounds just like the make up/fresh air in my house. High efficiency furnaces and hot water heaters need extra air to burn efficiently(sp?). Without it they starve and performance drops considerably and you could get incomplete burning resulting in CO. Link below is what is in my house...

    Permit Denied !!!!!

Get this, guy across street asks me to help him carry the base for a shed he is building. 10x12 big enough to get the lawn mower and trash cans out of the garage. We level it up, I help him set the walls. He works on it for a couple of days comes home and finds a red stop work tag. The township...

    Recovering from being burglarized

Sorry for your loss. You can do all you want to protect yourself but if people are determined to steal from you they will. We had a close call a few months back. Kids clipped the phone line to bypass the alarm to break into the garage. About 6 months before that we switched to Comcast for phone...

    Reclaimed Hardwood deal, worth it?

Have used reclaimed wood in 2 homes. Would do it again, great look! As for the ends you can recut the grooves with a router table or a table saw. No need to waste good wood. Very easy, just make sure you always run the wood through your set up the same each time, ie finish side to fence or...

    dyed concrete garage floors.

+1 on all of the above. All the dyes fade over time. Reds, Browns, and Black fade the fastest. Matching color samples is almost impossible. You need to make the sample using the same mix as the pour with the same dye ratio as the pour. If sample was made prior, close won't be. Reason: sand come...

    Generator Testing

Make sure you take the multi meter and check voltage. We have a Honda EB11000(10 Kw) generator. It was the top of the line portable gen. when new. Love that it starts easy everytime, but had a problem when we first started using it. Its voltage was high, we bought it new and never thought to...

    Bicycle storage solutions

I have a 10" ceiling in my garage and I just use the threaded hooks with plastic coating on them and hang them by their wheels, works great. During the usable season I keep my wife's bike on a rack on the wall as she can't reach her bike when its hanging from the ceiling.

    Electrical Mystery need advice

He got billed for the power he used, the outlet was connected directly to the meter lugs not before the meter. We asked the lineman if he had come across any that were tied into the incoming line prior to the meter and said hes only come across intentional illegal hook ups jumping the meter.

    Electrical Mystery need advice

The lineman that came out said its not common but more homes have this situation than people are aware because few people ever change their outlets. Most common place he said was the garage as thats where the trades set up to keep out of the weather.
