My guess is that its in the marketing,one size fits all , it does 110 , 220, makes it easy to buy. The 220v adapter plug goes right into a standard 50a welding outlet. So if your replacing an older unit no expense is required. Tech line says 30a , and listing it in the manual would be too easy!
