    Pelican 0450 - Portable Tool Chest Opinions/Alternatives?

That's probably what will happen for the wrenches. Maybe if there's enough room in one of the 0450 trays, I can fit a wrench tray in there to be more space efficient, since the wrench rolls seem like they can take up quite a bit of space when rolled up.

    Pelican 0450 - Portable Tool Chest Opinions/Alternatives?

Thanks! I most likely am not going to do shadow foam if I go with the pelican cases. Most likely for the 0450, I will let most of the tools stay stored loose, which is kind of similar to how they are in my portable craftsman box that I am using right now. Seems to work out ok, since most of...

    Pelican 0450 - Portable Tool Chest Opinions/Alternatives?

I think I am going to go with the 0450 for the majority of my basic tool needs, then like you're saying, I will probably look for some standard pelican case and use that to organize other misc/larger tools.

    Pelican 0450 - Portable Tool Chest Opinions/Alternatives?

Also, realistically speaking, only two of my previous threads were related in the sense that they were regarding large/professional sized boxes. My other threads, although possibly related to each other in some manner, are really independent threads on their own. This is my last post directed...

    Pelican 0450 - Portable Tool Chest Opinions/Alternatives?

I kind of like what was done for this Pelican box that's not an 0450. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pelican-1610-Portable-Mobile-Case-w-Mechanics-Gunsmithing-Inserts-Compare-0450-/131904312113?hash=item1eb61c1331:g:UosAAOSwZ1BXgC~I The tools that I am using a basic/standard hand tools that can be...

    Pelican 0450 - Portable Tool Chest Opinions/Alternatives?

It's up to you if you want to help with my current question, or try to base your opinions towards me from previous threads that I have made over the last year or two. I've received a lot of helpful information from the previous threads, and this forum has been my best resource for anything tool...

    Pelican 0450 - Portable Tool Chest Opinions/Alternatives?

I have considered simply using a regular Pelican box like the 1510 and storing tools in that. However, I was unsure of how to go about organizing it so that it isn't simply just tools laying on top of each other. I don't necessarily need one best solution, but more so ideas, so I can see/test...

    Pelican 0450 - Portable Tool Chest Opinions/Alternatives?

Thanks for the input/info. I think if I were to have to pay full retail price for an 0450, I most likely would not consider it at all. However, considering it is possible to find used ones for around $300 - $350, it allowed me to even consider possibly buying one. What other "mobile"...

    Pelican 0450 - Portable Tool Chest Opinions/Alternatives?

For several years, I have always been eyeing the Pelican 0450 portable tool chest. I think they look cool, having own several other pelican cases as well, but I think there are probably other alternatives out there that may serve a better purpose as a portable tool chest. For those who have...

One triple bank VS two double bank tool boxes?

Agreed. The more I think about it and with some of the responses here so far, I think I'm leaning heavily more towards two double banks if I can get them at close to the same price as one triple bank box

One triple bank VS two double bank tool boxes?

The triple and double banks that I have looked at all have roughly the same depths in their drawers. I would not need the advantages of larger drawers to contain a large amount of similar tools. Most likely larger drawers will not be physically divided up but they will definitely be organized...

One triple bank VS two double bank tool boxes?

It's not a shop, it's for my garage at home.

One triple bank VS two double bank tool boxes?

This will be for home garage use. I am debating between going with a triple bay box (~72" long) or going with two double bank boxes (~58" long /each). Price wise, they'd both end up costing about the same for me. The difference would be the two double bank boxes would add up to a lot more...

Stainless steel top or wood butcher top?

Actually, I was considering mounting a vice onto the top. I am assuming it is still possible with a steel top? Is it actually solid steel all the way through or how is it constructed?

Stainless steel top or wood butcher top?

I have also considered having a stainless top and then using a slab of wood to work on if/when necessary as well. Not sure if that's practical or not yet, but just a thought.

Stainless steel top or wood butcher top?

General work I suppose, since it'll be in my garage and not at a shop. As a side question, does anyone know how much a new vs used stainless top would be for a triple bay Matco box would roughly run for?

Stainless steel top or wood butcher top?

What are the pros and cons of having a stainless steel top versus a wood butcher top? Initially I thought a wood butcher top may be better, since it has some give in it when working on certain parts versus a stainless top which would be more solid.

    US General 72"

For those who went from a slightly deeper box @ ~25" to the HF box @ ~20" drawer depths, did you feel like it was that much of a compromise in storage capacity/options?

    How to I.D. a Matco 6s box from a 4s/5s?

Thanks for the info guys. I don't plan on rolling it around a lot, since it'll be for my personal garage use. Looking slightly closer at the picture with the first drawer open, it almost seems like I can make out a divider in there, which is similar to the older proformance boxes correct...
