Power Tool Advice for First-Time Homeowner

    1) That's a tough one. Frankly, I wouldn't want that as my only drill. It's a great hybrid between 18V power and 12V size, but it's not going to handle heavier duty tasks as well as other options. 2) Lots of holes? You'll appreciate having a rotary hammer. If there's any chance of being able to...

    Quality taps

I usually check MSC's sales flyer: https://www.mscdirect.com/FlyerView?contentPath=/sales-catalogs/metalworking I tend to like Cleveland for taps and 3pc sets and OSG for spiral taps.

PB SWISS Classic vs multicraft vs swissgrip screwdrivers

I purchased screwdrivers and tools with both types of handles. The SwissGrip are plenty durable unless used around chemicals. They're hard to clean. MultiGrip are more durable, easier to wipe clean. Buy a set in MultiGrip and then your most-used size in SwissGrip also.

    Milwaukee Hole Saw Set Question

I can't comment about the gap or oblongness, but the coating issue might be due to the hole saws banging around during transport. That looks like it could also be a surface contamination issue where the coating didn't adhere properly. All of the Milwuakee hole saws I've seen are made in the USA.

    Recommend me a table saw

I tend to really like Dewalt's. Beware - their two lowest-priced models, DW745 and DWE7480 are being discontinued due to changing safety regs. They have a new 8-1/4" saw coming out, but I'd advise stepping up to their DWE7491 if you can justify the price and size. Plus maybe a separate stand...

    18" tall wall cabinet suggestions?

If you won't be loading it up too much, should be durable enough. I like Ikea for cheap kitchen cabinets, might be another option to consider. I think you'll have a hard time finding 18" tall steel cabinets from garage/workshop cabinet brands.

These days, I'd also recommend the Dewalt folding table, but they're hard to find outside of holiday seasons.

Which SDS Bit Sizes to Maintain for Rotary Hammer Drill?

Maybe spend $20-30 on a Bosch or other decent brand bit set, and then buy other sizes or accessories as you need them.

    ICON vs snap on video

They wouldn't be making money if people weren't interested and watching. I bought a couple of Icon tools for eval b/c there is so much strong interest for it. The web interest in HF tools rivals the interest in Milwaukee and Dewalt.

    Cordless tool batteries

Depends on the tool. Let's say one person can move 40 lb weight 100 feet before taking a break. Two people can move that same 40 lb weight 200 feet no problem. Now let's say you have an 80 lb weight. Let's say one person can move it 40 ft. But it's hot out and he tires faster, so he only moves...

    Table Saw Deals?

Yes! DWE7480 is $279 right now at Amazon, I'm not sure where else. Here's my roundup: ToolGuyd Black Friday 2019 Table Saw Deals Roundup Sorry, no deal on Milwaukee's M18 saw. Yet? There might be a freebie or bonus offer somewhere. Lots of deals on Dewalt corded saws, Bosch's larger saw, and...

With Gearwrench, they're also updating their branding. If they're going to design new handle grips, might as well update the ratchet head with their latest and greatest, right?
