    Proto and Tekton Socket Comparison

Are they making these in a metric set yet? I love the SAE ones I have.

    Proto and Tekton Socket Comparison

That's one of the best ones I've seen on here in a very, very long time now.

    Craftsman Rotating Tool Bench

Now to see if I can sucker Clint into helping me fab one up.

    Work vans

We’re probably going to try to repurpose some existing shelving we have if we can. But any and everything is open at this point.

Saltus imperial wrenches made In USA.

Imagine Snap-On makes some, but I haven't thought about those in decades. Ratcheting combos seemed to eliminate the need for those in most peoples eyes.

    Work vans

It's in a state park so we do it all if I'm honest, but probably 80 plus of our regular maintenance work is replacing blown breakers for campsites and fixing minor plumbing leaks in bathrooms and repair/replacing frost proof hydrants. So carrying lightbulbs, breakers, shark bite connections and...

    Work vans

It's a state park, and it will rarely be going above 25 mph. Plus most of what it will be carrying is breakers, Shark bite PEX connectors and odd ball MRO type supplies. If it is bigger than that we have lots of trucks we can use for it.

    Work vans

I have a question for those of you who operate out of a van. We have a Ford E-150 that is otherwise using up space at our shop and we would like to turn it into a work van so we can keep our maintenance supplies and tools handy for our most common issues that arise. How many of you built your...

    Craftsman Rotating Tool Bench

I've only ever seen them in old catalog pictures, never a real one in the wild. I have wanted one ever since I first saw it to make up some room in the garage. Do you have a model number or anything from it? I would love to see if I could sucker a friend of mine into helping me fab something...

The promised ICON pliers have finally arrived

As a home gamer, these have some promise to me. That said, they are really close to Knipex and a lot of the various Japanese brands available on Amazon as far as pricing. So unless they get a coupon deal or I can find them open box at the store they'll probably sit on the shelf for a bit before...

    Ratchet handle repair

Flap wheel and some hockey tape or heat shrink tubing would be where my mind goes with that.

    Tractor toolbox

That's more what I am thinking, since any major work will likely involve a go bag or a trip back to the shop.

    Tractor toolbox

I leave CAT tourniquets in my chaps, and in both front doors of all our vehicles. I need to add an IBD and IFAK to my wife's car. My patrol truck has a CAT in each door and an IFAK under every seat so no matter what they can be accessed.

    Harbor Freight Bench Vise opinions

While I lust for a Wilton bullet, I know realistically I can't afford one. I got lucky and scored some German, actually West Germany labeled, NOS Ridgid vises when I was moving into my house and put a the smaller one in the basement and the larger in the garage. In the meantime I've gotten a...

    Tractor toolbox

We surprised my dad with a 1974 Ford 4000 SU for Christmas this year, and I am trying to put together a set of necessary tools for the box on his tractor. What do you guys who play with tractors leave onboard? He has a bum right hand, so I am trying to avoid crescent wrenches as much as possible...

Industrial maintenance needing a new 3/8 drive ratchet

If you don't need a really fine tooth count, the Williams or Caterpillar rebranded stuff might be a good option. I have some older Proto 5429/5450 ratchets that are pretty smooth, but they're not going to be confused with a fine tooth model anytime soon.

Mechanic's tool set with highest % of sockets for the money for the vehicle kit?

I'm sure it was a huge pain, especially when you add the red tape and paperwork and politics that come with any large, bloated bureaucracy like a major, international auto manufacturer and all their OEM suppliers.

Mechanic's tool set with highest % of sockets for the money for the vehicle kit?

Later Jeep CJ series products are that way. And there is literally no rhyme or reason where something will be inch vs metric I've decided.

    That's pretty cool.
