Snell Mgf Co. Brace Drill Bits

Hey all, Just cleaned up some bits from an old toolbox and observed some markings on them. Just wondering if anyone has heard of this company or has seen anything similar. First piece looks like a straight screw brace drill bit. Some markings are worn but I can make out; Snell Mfg Co. Fiskdale...

Originally thought the 10 was mm. Measured and it is more like 1/4" (~6mm) You can see where what looks like a japanese character is a double stamped 4 and a 1 is above it vertically. Not sure what the significance of a 14 is. Also spied the SA but tryaing to make out a U in front of it. It may...

    Help Me Identify Universal Joint

Woah! $55 @ Amazon. I recently repace my Craftsman 3/4" universal joint and thought $15 was robbery. So this looks like a weldable part as there is no key way, threads, set screw, etc.

    Help Me Identify Universal Joint

Found this universal joint kicking around in an old garage. Appears to be a universal joint for 5/8" rod, but does not have any fasteners. Same on both ends. I would expect a D shape at the least. In any event, no markings on it. OD appears to be 1". Lenght is 3 7/16". Not sure if this is come...

    Post up your Thorsen tools!

I guess the interesting observation is that there are no other markings on mine. Just THORSEN 33. Does not appear to have been chromed. Just trying to zero in on a date as I know I will be asked.

Prototype Wrench Holder - Need feedback

I have been scaling this design for different sizes, ie mini wrenches. Seem to fit ok. I a storing SAE and Metric in different drawers, but het the idea of inverting for side by side. Open end, combination, line wrenches will be in same drawer. Basically rotate sharks teeth 180 degrees. Im gonna...

Prototype Wrench Holder - Need feedback

Mentioned quick prototype print, and this was an early one, do layers are much nicer now. This is also PLA and I am using PET-G now. Also can get resin print from my son if I send files to him. Good idea for lip, magnets are more for sliding around in the drawers, and should not be that...

What to include, new build home

Agreed. Too expensive right now. Getting cheaper tho, some great work being done with alternative materials for batteries. I have oil fired burner and a few mini splits, mostly for AC, but occasionally use as heat pumps. Also some radiant cove heaters in basement and garage. Replacing the oil is...

What to include, new build home

As gas can be, guessing it heats a cast iron slower than a aluminum/other pan. That's what generators are for...better yet battery storage. You can run your electric appliances off an EV (See F-150 Lightning) for days.... when power walls are the norm, there will be no need for generators...

Prototype Wrench Holder - Need feedback

Hi All, Just working on a prototype wrench holder to get the tool box more organized. I have tried several designs and am 3D printing. The goal it to have a flexible design to accommodate more or less wrenches as I print these on demand based on # of wrenches in the set. Design is very scaleable...
