Ryobi introduces new cordless tools - belt sander, search light, trim router, pump

Yup, that is why I got into it. Not quite as PRO as Dewalt/Milwaukee/Makita/Bosch/Rigid but some of the tools are really *close* and a few really are just as good as the Pro tools. The vast diversity of the lineup and compatibility forwards and backwards for the batteries makes it really great...

    The Ryobi Tool Appreciation/Review Permathread!

Thanks for the great reviews on these 40v tools! Ryobi, please listen up here for improvements to future models. This forum on GJ may be one of your best ways to get honest feedback on the tools and make them better in the future. Many improvements won't necessarily add any COST to the tools...

Awesome KC. Thanks for the info. I'm also linking to in the Ryobi Permathread. Let's get more Ryobi discussions going on GJ people ! - Paul

    The Ryobi Tool Appreciation/Review Permathread!

Yup, I have one of those Homelite chainsaws and hedge trimmer. Basically, identical to the older blue Ryobi versions of those tools, which means they are just fine. When I got mine, I got them off Ebay and fairly cheap relative to new Ryobi ones, as few people knew Homelite made these tools...

    The Ryobi Tool Appreciation/Review Permathread!

Here is a link to KC's thread with video on 4 new Ryobi One + tools. All look like good upgrades or new tools to me. The light is similar to the "bright as a sun" worklight I wrote about here last year, but smaller and less awkward and slightly higher lumens. Good deal. The brushless belt...

Stanley Black & Decker buys Craftsman

Well, let's take it in a new direction then ! I want a warranty from SBD that whatever the COO will be on each tool will never change again once it is decided! :eyecrazy:  :) (Hopefully all will be US made now of course, but I doubt it.) - Paul

Stanley Black & Decker buys Craftsman

Yeah agreed. The Western Forge and Wilde made Craftsman products are all real good and great values for the money and have been for decades going. I hope they continue as suppliers. I do see problems with the screwdriver side though as you do. Stanley can make some pretty good screwdrivers...

Stanley Black & Decker buys Craftsman

Yeah, I think *most* of the hand tools will end up very much as you say Fed. Fatmax and Dewalt, which still may be a slight improvement for most of the current Craftsman China COO tools actually. But there is the potential for some real high quality US made stuff for the...

    Wright/Williams 15" "crescent" $34, Mac 12" $19, 6" PEC Double Sq. $17, 4" $15 + ship

Re: Wright/Williams 15" "crescent" $34, Mac 12" $19, 6" PEC Double Sq. $17, 4" $15 + Yeah, those are all pretty great deals on US made high quality tools, which is what Harry Epstein's does! A highly recommended seller. Buy with confidence. - Paul

Stanley Black & Decker buys Craftsman

Yes, I can't see that either. There will be consolidation for sure. Stanley for instance makes just about every tool Irwin makes. Those alone are going to consolidate. Craftsman for sure. How about Dewalt? For sure, much common with Irwin/Lennox/Craftsman. The loser here is mostly Apex...

Stanley Black & Decker buys Craftsman

Yes, and I'm hoping those Industrial and Professional lines grow strongly with SBD and stay made in USA. Proto versions or Mac versions cloned to be Craftsman Pro/Industrial would be just fine. Probably won't see Armstrong clones anymore though, but Proto is of similar quality (the US made...

Looking for a good grout removal tool

For the super fine width lines, you can use a dremel with a diamond coated round "saw blade". Have to be careful, use full face shield and gloves, but will do it. Oscillating tool is good for the bigger width lines. - Paul

Stanley Black & Decker buys Craftsman

Yes, many people have fond memories and even some more recent experiences of good value in the Craftsman lawn/garden area. Huskvarna used to make their tractors. Many suppliers make the more recent ones and push mowers, but there is brand recognition there. Good way for SBD to enter this...

Stanley Black & Decker buys Craftsman

Note that Stanley/B&D just bought the tool division of Newell, which is Irwin and Lennox. SBD now owns the Vice Grip brands (which can only be a good thing, since Newell destroyed the quality of Vice Grip). I see that and the Craftsman moves being very smart by SBD. We'll all have to see how...

Stanley Black & Decker buys Craftsman

C3 is mostly Ryobi. I can't really see Stanley/B&D continueing to support the Ryobi based C3 under Craftsman for long with the Black and Decker line of tools out there. I would think they would grow the B&D tools instead. - Paul

Stanley Black & Decker buys Craftsman

I could easily see the new Craftsman having premium tools that are clones of existing Proto or Mac. That would not be bad at all for Craftsman Professional or Industrial lines. Really, Craftsman has "cloned" other pro lines before, namely SK and Armstrong for the high grade US made stuff. I...

Husky 4-Pack Titanium Scissors at Ollie's Bargain Outlet $7.99

Thx for this post. That curved giant Husky scissors is GREAT for a kitchen/garden scissors when cutting ROUND things like carrots or beets or other garden produce. I got two of those a couple years back from HD, one for garage and one for kitchen. Really great for that. I'll pick up a set of...

More Dremel Accessories CHEAP - Lowes

I almost lost an eye to a dremel cutting wheel once that broke off. Luckily, it hit my polycarbonite eyeglasses, skittered on up from the bottom to the top, then bounced off and nailed me in the skull a bit. The entire eyeglass on that eye had marks covering it's whole surface. And I was NOT...
