What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Wrapped up the boat trailer fenders, all in all...I'm happy with the outcome. There's 1 spot I may revisit after I get them mounted. Little quick trick, heated a bolt and melted through the carpet at the mounting location, beats pulling and damaging it with a drill or chasing an invisible hole...

    Craftsman Drill Press

Little more paint work on the base and tables. Black, charcoal and orange once I get it all done. Casually looking for a local 100 or 150 to go with these tables and base.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Carpet on the boat fenders, quite the job, however I am enjoying the project. I've been at it all day after the gym and a few work tasks. I'm saving the tedious part of wrapping the top for tomorrow when I'm a bit fresher so I don't rush it and make an error. I'll probably watch some more...

    Craftsman Drill Press

Working on an idea of mine. I came across the Gen 2 I mentioned earlier with the double table, it had some issues with the head and motor. I'm working on the base, post and tables. I'll be casually looking for a 100 or 150 of the previous generation and blend the two together. Cleaned, prepped...

    Interesting nut rounder

Someone may make them, but most are probably custom/ home made. Typically made to be used by a black smith/ blade smith and are used to twist railroad spikes and other square stock. I've never seen one manufactured outside of DIY.

What did you do “IN” your wood shop today?

Cross post - Quick outside work table, keep the messy jobs out of the shop with the boat. The wooden wire spool served the purpose but finally gave up. Treated 2x6, galvanized ring nails via the framing nail gun, deck screws and waterproof construction adhesive.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Wooden wire spool finally came to end of its second service life. Quick , easy 2x6 outdoor work table for dirty messes I don't want inside with the boat. If it seems like it's going to hold up well, I may build another and chase some steel plate for the top. I included the plans from the...

    Craftsman Drill Press

I just randomly snagged the floor version of this with the dual tables. $50 Craigslist find, drug it home. I've never seen the dual table deal..I decided I needed it for the base, post and tables.. the rest would just be stripped down for parts for another future project.

New to me Craigslist find. I've never seen the dual table. I don't need another drill press. I wanted the tables, base, and post. I'll strip down the rest and keep some useful parts. The motor is absolutely toast.

    What kind of wood?

The end grain cuts look like Apitong. I used some for boat trailer bunks, it's typically used on the floors in tractor trailer trailers. Heavy, durable and nearly water proof. It's hard on cutting tools like any Ipe. I passed all my scraps to a friend who uses it on custom knives for handle...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

One side of the boat trailer is in primer. I think I'm going to get the other side this far, then top coat both sides together. Drilled the mounting holes out to 5/16 to upgrade to larger hardware in SS. I need to order some material to remake the spacers.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

1 fender is off. Quite the task. The plan is to finish prepping the trailer on this side, I still have some fasteners to cut off flush and drill out, some light sanding, priming and paint. I'll do that to both sides while I wait on the delivery of the carpet. 3 bolts per side have the heads...
