Is a two post really any better than the various (similarly capable) floor lifts? Can't see any real difference. Other than maybe, the floor lift takes up less space in your shop.

In this case it's the opposite, the door will kind of lazily close itself... but it might not. So it's best to make sure the door gets closed yourself.

Hog rings are typically used in auto upholstery. Especially older vehicles, but I've seen them used some in newer stuff too. They help keep the seat covers cinched down tight to the seat frame.
