What kind of lift is this?

Is a two post really any better than the various (similarly capable) floor lifts? Can't see any real difference. Other than maybe, the floor lift takes up less space in your shop.

Here's a good one - But was this the best craftsman bench grinder?

I want one of these things. I like the Art Deco look it has. If I find one, I'll restore it just like he did. And use it.

Above 1200 Sq/FT The ASYLUM - Happy 40th Birthday to Me! (Est. 2005)

Looking great! I love to see garages and workshops given the same attention that houses get. Made to look nice. It makes you want to be out there, it makes you want to use it more.

Above 1200 Sq/FT The ASYLUM - Happy 40th Birthday to Me! (Est. 2005)

What if you had to put it there? Could the wires be cut, and some length added to them so they could go over the top of the cabinet?

Would it be wise to lube refrigerator seal?

Yeah it seems I should have gone with a frigidaire brand refrigerator. Lesson learned. I guess whoever buys this house gets a free fridge. Believe it or not, the Samsung I had before this Whirlpool was better quality. I think the guys talking about the vacuum have it right. Because now I've...

Would it be wise to lube refrigerator seal?

In this case it's the opposite, the door will kind of lazily close itself... but it might not. So it's best to make sure the door gets closed yourself.

Would it be wise to lube refrigerator seal?

Thanks for the replies, to clarify the fridge isn't rocking. You have to pull so hard to get the door open, that it will move the fridge forward. It has little wheels on the bottom, and normally you'd never get it to roll unless you were trying to. But you have to pull so hard on the door to get...

Do these hog rings need bigger pliers?

Hog rings are typically used in auto upholstery. Especially older vehicles, but I've seen them used some in newer stuff too. They help keep the seat covers cinched down tight to the seat frame.

Would it be wise to lube refrigerator seal?

I got a new whirlpool refrigerator, and even after a couple months of daily usage, you still have to yank or pry the door open. It moves the whole fridge or shakes whatever is inside. Can I remedy the situation by wiping a little WD-40 on the door stripping/seal? Or would that be a bad idea...

Do these hog rings need bigger pliers?

Doing a little auto upholstery, and I need some hog rings that have longer teeth. I need the part that actually bites in, to be a bit longer than usual. So I found these on Amazon, but I can't tell if you need larger hog ring pliers to use them...

Above 1200 Sq/FT The ASYLUM - Happy 40th Birthday to Me! (Est. 2005)

Hmm... bought it's twin years ago. But would a modern one be any different? That seems like something that wouldn't have changed in 50 years. Just a simple fire extinguisher cabinet. Of course, now I want a vintage one lol

    Question about the board

Just to clarify, there's a difference between "Zenforo" and Xenforo, right? I noticed you were spelling it differently so I thought it best to ask. https://xenforo.com/

    Question about the board

It looks like this is part of it, but maybe this company just modified Xenforo (zenforo?) for them. I've noticed this forum has a pretty unique look to it. https://www.atomicindustry.com/ You can that link at the bottom of every page on this site. Sent them an email. The Ford Mustang site for...

    Question about the board

Thanks I'll check out Zenforo. Looks like it may be Xenforo though. But yeah this is a really nice looking website.

    Question about the board

Is this forum using the Discourse forum software? To me it looks like discourse, but modified. Not sure as forum software really isn't my bag. But I was hoping to learn because I'm considering starting one for my local area. Thought it might be fun. Thank you

    Sandpaper grits labels?

To answer both, yes. Not because I'm a tool aficionado (which I am) but because I don't have any choice. I'm familiar with the laws that dictate this. If I do not have it, at some point, I'll need it. And then I must pay penance for being in violation of the law by waiting the obligatory 5...

    Sandpaper grits labels?

I have a filing cabinet out in my garage, and I reserved a drawer for sand paper. I want to make a file for each grit. That way it's easy to keep them all organized. But what's the rate of increase? Looks like it would be about 20 each time it goes up, but I think that's only to start with. So...

    Let's talk water coolers

I was recently at the town wide junk swap, where twice a year there's a 5 mile long garage sale along a 2 lane highway. It's known as "Antique Alley". It was there that I saw something I hadn't seen since I was a kid in the 1980's. It was a water cooler from the 1980's, with the big bottle still...

If you could design the perfect garage, how would it be?

It's hard to argue with that one ^^^ other than to say it's a bit of a clone. Somewhat characterless and featureless. The skylights would look good during the day when the lights were off, but beyond that it could use a big bump in personality. Just my taste of course, but I'll be spending a lot...

If you could design the perfect garage, how would it be?

To answer everyone's space question, it's definitely larger than my little image would indicate. A lot larger. And built out of bricks, looking similar to an early 1900's factory. A big brick building from say 1905. Large glass windows and all. That's what I want to build. But I have to plan it...
