    Snap-on Tools

Are both those brake tools sold, or just the latter? I'd like the first one if it's still available.

Have you tried the ol' screwdriver trick? Even if you do wanna buy an actual pair, can't hurt to try it in the mean time.

Snap-On Must Haves? (Or Highly Recommended)

http://www1.snapon.com/sep I'm not sure how it works with every school, but in my case, my school already had a connection with a specific S/O rep, so that's who we talk to for anything.

Snap-On Must Haves? (Or Highly Recommended)

Yea I have the 5/8 and 13/16 sockets, not magnetic though. Was working on an I-6 Envoy last week where those coulda came in handy, not a huge issue tho.

Snap-On Must Haves? (Or Highly Recommended)

Well along with some S/O tools I also got a top chest + roller cab (KRA2055A/KRA2007). Honestly, I have no problems having paid for the tools I got, but I dunno, there are times when I get buyer's remorse when I see those boxes and what I paid, even with the discount. Money was, and still is...

Snap-On Must Haves? (Or Highly Recommended)

Didn't see that one, thanks. I know you can find great prices on ebay and here on the forums, but the student discount is still the best deal I've seen personally (55%). I don't plan to go into debt over tools (although I'm sure many say that and still do in the end :bounce:) but I might as...

Snap-On Must Haves? (Or Highly Recommended)

Yea, that's a nice one, I actually have the FHR80, same design + quick release. It might help if I list what S/O stuff I already have, well what I remember off the top of my head anyway: Comfort Grip + Quick Release 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 ratchets Couple extensions for each drive Shallow Metric sockets...

Snap-On Must Haves? (Or Highly Recommended)

I was talking with the S/O man recently, and he talked about how alot of guys he knew as students who are now working in the field, say they wish they would've bought more tools when they were in school, because of student discounts. So that just got me thinkin, are there any S/O tools that are...

    Snap On plastic trays

Hm, IDK why I never thought about gettin some spare change for those trays. They keep stuff organized but IMO they took up valuable real estate. I ended up giving them away to friends.

Socket Rails - gearwrench vs Ernst

I have one GW rail from buying a GW Torx set, and I have Ernst twist lock rails. Just from a visual stance, the GW seems more sturdy because it looks like a single piece of plastic that forms the bottom and concaves around and over the ends of each socket clip, whereas the Ernst is basically a...

    "undercover" Sears security?

I toyed with the idea of some kids just messing around, but it really didn't feel like it. Having security like that seems like a good idea, I just thought they would be more capable looking guys on that job, atleast for this particular sears store.

    "undercover" Sears security?

Another thread about someone's trip to sears got me thinking about my last trip to one, and I thought it was a little weird, so I wanted to know you guys thoughts about this. Couple weeks ago I took in a CMan magnet to get warrantied, the cashier walked over and got a new one off the shelf, no...

School me on Snap Ring / Hose Clamp Pliers

I have a pair of those CMan pliers, pretty handy tool. I also recently used one of those cable pliers, they worked great. I had to get to a lower rad hose and the hose clamp's ears were facing down, no easy access from underneath the car either. It quickly took care of that.

What tool do you wish to get for Christmas???

Some crowfoot wrenches would be nice, some locking flex ratcheting wrenches, and a hydraulic brake line flare kit.

    Show your new tool arrivals

Yea, that was my first thought, it has to be between 6-7'' long, which IMO is just right. I haven't used them yet actually, I just got them in the mail. The only thing I noticed that seems a little off I guess, is that the 1/2 seems a little too quiet, compared to the 3/8 and the standard 1/2 I...
