    Let's see your toolbox.

Could you please tell me what those yellow pliers(?) with the sliding thing on the handle are called? (lower row of pliers, 5th from the right)

pinless swivel instead of pinned universal?

Well yes, but a little more to it, maybe I'm overthinking it. My question to you then, if you had to replace your sockets, would you buy both the pinless and pinned types, or would you just buy the pinless type? (just forget that they're impact for a sec)

pinless swivel instead of pinned universal?

Yea, my thought isn't about impact vs chrome, sorry for the confusion. I think the pictures might've confused more than helped, but I changed the bottom one now to hopefully show it better.

pinless swivel instead of pinned universal?

I've looked through various threads that talked about this topic, but I didn't feel they gave me a straight answer for this question. I'm looking at 3/8 sets really because I want swiveling sockets for use with ratchets and I was looking at this Matco set...

    Snap On style wrench rack?

If they're thinner ones like these then yes, I have a GW ratchet wrench set in one But my thicker CMan ones like these won't fit (talking about the Ernst gripper racks)

best tool set for dirty jobs

I guess I don't quite understand, some guys mentioned not doing messy jobs with soft grips. Why is this? The last relatively messy job I did involved an auto ****** (obviously with quite a bit of ATF), using a comfort grip ratchet, which I felt gave me a better grip on it over just a chrome...

Snap On District Rep told me why ratchets are no longer stamped "USA"

While not a tech yet (in school), it's not that I don't care where my S/O ratchets are made because I do, but I don't mind the lack of a USA stamping.

Pinless Impact Swivels - Alternatives to Matco/Craftsman?

I've been looking for a swivel set myself, and I've been seriously eyeballing this set from Genius Tools. http://www.geniustools.net/Products/readset.aspx?item=TG-312M&back=searchproducts.aspx I had never heard of this brand but after searching a bit, even finding many positive results from...

    painting your wrenches?

I haven't tried it for myself although I'm planning to, but I've read of people using some lacquer marker/sticks, like these http://www.micro-tools.com/store/SearchByKeyword.aspx?word=paint+stick For their price, it's worth a try I suppose.

    Snap On style wrench rack?

I believe Ernst makes the soft grip wrench racks for S/O, I could be wrong though. I have the Ernst ones and they're great, they hold the wrench with just enough force to keep them in place if you move the rack around, but you can easily lift a wrench up with two fingers...

Craftsman Impact Driver & Streamlight Giveaway

Well, I have a drop light but sometimes it can be a hassle to unwrap the cord and find an outlet when I only need it for a minute or two, and its bulkiness can get in the way under the hood. That's a nice little light though, I can already see how it would come in handy.

    color coded sockets and wrenches.

I don't know any part numbers off the top of my head, but I know Matco has socket sets that have their socket sizes colored into each socket, red - std/blue - metric. Actually, I just looked on their site, and it looks like most of their sets come marked like that. If it helps identify a size...
