Vintage button pliers, and 1/4 of a logo.

Maybe try the sharpie trick? Mark the whole pivot area with a black marker and while it's wet, lightly wipe away the color from the surface and try to leave it in the writing marks. Not perfect, but ive used it to get model serial info from old machinery datatags before and worked well

    Kennedy Tool Boxes

My guess on the cutoff bottom on the OP's box would be rust or such. I've found plenty of these boxes that are in excellent condition like that other than the Swiss cheesy bottom. I assume it's from damp basement or shop where condensation takes over if it doesn't get moved. Lots of good ones...

    K Mart Tools

I think this is a great find to link together! I have no less the 20 of these style wrenches and never would have guessed them to be K-Mart branded. Seem decent daily users, but I have plenty of craftsman DOE wrenches already.

    I said I wouldn't do this again...but I fell off the wagon!

Estate sale bug is a hard one to shake!! Every time I start making sense of everything in my shop, seems like a run of good sales comes up and buries me like that too! Lol. Guess it could be worse!

    Snap on industrial rats?

Same auction, 2 boxes....fairly easily identifiable snap on. Or what I really hoped to be from the poor online auction pics, craftsman c series. What I found though when I got em in my hands confuses me. 3/8 one has PF--87, made in usa and 3/8 markings is all. 1/2 drive has made in usa, but...

    Another "vise grip" identification please.

Haven't found the locking Pliers specifically, but guessing this company in Europe. Can faintly see the CK warranted on the handle where vise grip puts their name. https://www.ck-tools.com/products

    For the "Record"

Here's mine. Decided it's gonna be a good user on the welding bench. I'll be smart enough to use but not abuse er!! (Hopefully)

Craftsman V, VM, VP, VR, VT, VV- Ratchets, sell or give away?

That flex head probably has the most value in my opinion. All those ratchets are good quality for home mechanics and regular use. Wrenching for a living most have gotten spoiled by the fine Tooth more modern designs, even if they're cheaper brands. GJ classifieds would be good, otherwise make...

    Snap-on KR-23 Mechanics Chest & Questions

Checked my KRA-21A for the heck of it, and stanley latch on it too. Not sure what vintage it is. But pretty sure it's gonna be my little girls first real toolbox in a few years if she's interested.

    Help Identifying Ball Peen Hammer

Nupla is the brand. Looks like they're still making plenty of new hammers too. Supposed to be pretty nice. Has been some discussion on whether they are the maker of blue point and snap on hammers I see.

    Craftsman Bicycle Tool Kit????

I think pic 4 if the ebay listing might answer the maker code question. Someine with a computer and bigger monitor might be able to see better, but the one wrench looks to me like is has a -v- and 5 digit code on it? That shud mske it fairly easy to find those and the screwdrivers at least. I...

    Machinist gauge/micrometer?

I should have put a few more specs in too, fairly large piece...overall 6.75 inches long when adjusted to 2.5 setting. 2.25 inches of the gauge shaft sticking out at that setting. It's about 1.25 inches diameter at thickest section of the tube. 3/8" diameter of the smaller shaft that would do...

    Machinist gauge/micrometer?

Found this in an old machinist box I'm clearing out. I know previous owner worked on old ford's and model T's, not that it matters all that much specifically. 4649 is only model or mfg. Everything else looks like graduation marks. Assuming it's part of a bigger set, but Google lens won't...

    Show your “Crowntop” Craftsman

Gift from a buddy up the road that knows I collect old craftsman boxes. All tray inserts in good shape, but some paint damage on front cover, but minimal. Still has a handful of aluminum dividers and holder clips. And best...original crown keys!

    Vintage Craftsman wrench holders.

The first rack in my post above has a combo of the unmarked raised panel wrenches and the 1/2" is a =v=. Pretty sure I have a large mix of all 3, ==, =v=, and -v-. all designations have same thickness and width between all the styles

    Vintage Craftsman wrench holders.

Well, here's 2 of the 5 or 6 I have. These got hung up since they were the nicest condition. And second one looks like it will help with your case study, it's the 11 wrench. You also answered my question of why I can't come across an elusive 7/16-1/2 inch DBE wrench for it. Now I've gotta...

    6.3mm SK 1/4” drive socket???

Kinda have to guess on the hyster lifts. Assumed it's sae clamp, but pretty much everything ele on the lift you can just bring a metric socket set, and everything crosses. When the Clamps take SAE socket, metrics won't cross....until now! Lol. Thanks SK!! Just need to make a space in the metric...

    6.3mm SK 1/4” drive socket???

Lol! Just funny how I never really noticed it affect anything other than the hose Clamps. Almost every other application, either a 7mm or 8mm works just fine.

    6.3mm SK 1/4” drive socket???

Resurrecting this one because of my find on one of these 6.3 sk sockets. There is o e hose clamp that I come across working on forklifts that no regular metric socket will tighten enough. Guessing this is the one I need to add to the set.
