Snap on 18 piece 1/2 socket set

I've got one like that I put back into daily service. Can't find a part number on the box, but snap on font tells me it significantly older than yours. 1-1/4 seems to be about the biggest socket that will fit into it too

Craftsmen USA - what am I missing here?

I think it's a lot like the antique market. When it was just local finds, condition didn't matter as much, was just happy to find some of the rarer items or matched set. With marketplace, ebay, Etsy, etc., condition matters more and brings a higher premium now. Even with as many tools as were...

Craftsmen USA - what am I missing here?

There's kind of a niche or demand for about anything depending on the trade or job you do. Working on forklifts and machinery reliant on hydraulics, I almost require a good set of double open end wrenches. Carry a old beat up craftsman DOE 1-1/8×1-1/4 all the time especially. I haven't ran...

    Orange unbranded 3 jaw puller

Same sale got me the best condition old 3 drawer roller I've come across. Little manipulation needs done to make the front door shut 100%, but I'll get to it someday🙄

    Vintage yard tools

I wouldn't have found that thread. I have my hands full just keeping an eye on vintage forum and rarely if ever venture to the general tools or anything else.

Went on my first estate sale haul and failed badly

Couple of the bigger estate places around here either have a warehouse sale every few weeks to close out the overstock stuff. Or they have scrapper, junker people follow them and haul away the remainder for free if they can keep what they want out of it.

    "Craft Alloy" C-14 Wrench

Seem to be a mid quality import line. Seen the sockets discussed on another thread. I have about 5 sockets with that name. 1 or 2 has the little star emblem on them too. I'll try n get some pics

Looking at getting one of those SST Spanners now! Thanks for that link, I could have used it a bunch by now. On that punched retainer, are you able to get the smallest little metal dremel bit to fit in the channels without taking too much material from the nut?

Should this Stillson's wrench have a wooden handle?

Though the pex does limit the use of the ol pipe wrenches, I've still been saved by em with hydraulic work. When the correct Spanner wrench has either failed me or someone else already egged out the holes on cylinders, big pipe wrench like that has saved the day tearing apart a few cylinders.

    Par-X Tools

Kinda funny, 7/32 socket matches everything physically, but must have missed the letter stamper

    Par-X Tools

Morning sale find...snap on box caught my eye, but filled with nice condition Par X 1/4 set. Think it's just missing the breaker bar. Will get a little oil and light clean up
