    i thought possibly rock island, but it looks like the handle knob is more bulbous. that's what made me think athol or starrett, also the mounting points have a bit of a point to them. like i said i am puzzled.

    in the first picture..... i have seen that "ball joint" type nut on the swivel of a few different vises. is that an original fastener, how does it work? pull up and swivel vise or turn to loosen and swivel vise?

    i think the timing on that particular box matters greatly. i purchased two of them, one in february with coupon for $369 and one in march with coupon for $349, they adjusted the february purchase for me as well when i made the march purchase.

    the determining factor is what product was used in the install. some vinyl manufacturers use different adhesives. i was fortunate enough that mine came off without a hitch, but i have heard of others not being able to get the adhesive off.

    i agree 100%, looks much nicer and cleaner too. i would love it leave it bare. any issues with accelerated rust? or is just wiping it down with WD-40 or another solvent enough

    wow, i just got through that electolysis thread, i can see myself now with no eyebrows.... LOL. pretty interesting. i may give it a shot. i think i might track down some boric acid first and dunk it for a few days and see how that works. stay tuned.
