    ZMotorsports Shop Projects 2.0

The milwaukee paint pen was a joke. Didnt work out of the package. I had an elmers paint marker I bought at Walmart almost 20 years ago that worked for probably 15 yrs before it died. I like the viz torque paint I have been using the last year or so. Makes it very obvious for me what I have...

Busy day today, started with an ignition lock cylinder for my neighbor. It did not go well so not a lot of pics other than the final carnage I had to go thru to get it out since the key wouldnt turn. Kids swing had seen better days so the wife grabbed a slightly bigger replacement for me to...

Lead times are one thing I dont like. I always hated when a service advisor promised a job by a certain time. What if something went wrong and it was delayed? Now I was stressed and the advisor and customer would be mad if it wasnt done on time. Anymore I give a time to drop off and tell them I...

Thats exactly how I felt. I had all these items in the cart after the past couple of days, but I cant finish up my pressure washer station if I dont get the wall insulation completed and electrical panel resecured. Those items are in the way and taking up space on a bench that I am working to...

Not a lot happening around here the past week or so other than knocking out some jobs for a few folks. Had an ancient Buick dropped off for an intake reseal and timing cover reseal. Pouring coolant out everywhere. My buddy finally got on my schedule to drop off his landcruiser making some noise...

I had them put in an expansion joint at the shop and driveway. I wish I had done a couple more down the length of the driveway. Theres only a couple of certainties in east TN one is the weather cant make up its mind and the other is your concrete will crack. A few more expansion joints laid in...

Feels good to have concrete down, my crew did shop and driveway in one day. Probably over 3000 sq ft of concrete 70 yards worth. It was a 12 plus hour day for them though and they worked well into the dark. I would have been fine with a 2 day pour and it would have given me opportunity to bring...

I just sweep up well before I start a welding project and try to do the work on my metal workbench if its small parts. If I am out and away from my bench it feels a lot easier to weld on a vehicle or project without worry of starting a fire. Or theres always TIG and no sparks😎

Theres not a much Im afraid to tear into, especially if its profitable. But the biggest hold up for me building anything besides my medicore welding skills if getting the suspension geometry set up correctly. Im also afraid of losing interest and having a pile of parts sitting there that are...

Happy new year Mike! Too cool that you saw that. The cleanup has been long needed and I am happy that I am doing it with a good spirit. Guys on here with tidy shops have been a source of envy for me, and now that things have a " place" I feel good seeing them go back to their home. The goal is...
