Yup, that's basically it minus the swivel base. I guess that would be what the "X" suffix is.

    Need Info on Parker Vise

Good day all. I bought an old C. Parker vise today and am beginning the process of cleaning it up. I'm trying to find some information on it, but nothing is really available on the web or here. What I can tell you is its a 5" jaw non swivel. Model 259 patented in 1906 and weights a ton! Any...

    favorite screwdrivers

I've got about 40 WERA screwdrivers and like them a lot (except for constant cleaning of the soft handle grips). That said, I've been seriously looking at the WIHA microfinish series. Sweeeeet! :pimpflash

Sell Snap-On Classic 78 for twin HF US General 44"s, advice welcome

This is the best overall answer I have seen here. The HF 56 is a deep box, similar quality to the S/O and gives you a chance to live with both side by side. Sell the S/O later if you feel the HF works for ya and get another 56 or if the S/O fever gets the best of you, sell the HF and move onwards.

    HF 56" Canadian Alternative

Looking for a box similar to the HF 56" which is also 24" deep for larger drawer space. These are obviously not available in Canada, but does anyone know of a comparable deep box in this general size? The only one I've seen is the International VRB-5610 but it only weighs 284 lbs vs the HF56 at...

    Moving workshop ~1700 miles. Advice?

Having moved too many times over the past 15 years, I can say that all of the above recommendations are spot on. Do NOT move/ship toolboxes with tools in them -what a mess! It will also take a lot longer than you think-so does a kitchen BTW.

Question for all the tool hounds ?

I give my old "extras" to a friend of mine out East who doesn't have the spare cash to buy them himself. At least I know they are going to good home and will be well used and appreciated.

    who makes better sockets

This man speaks the truth! Also my exact philosophy regarding German car affordability. I can't afford to take them to the dealer so working on them myself is both a financial necessity as well as a point of pride and self reliance. Good quality tools (and the right ones for the job) is...
