I'm a fan of CTEK these days. They've been working well for several years now on three or four vehicles. I use their maintainers (which will charge, but not fast-charge). They make other products designed more for dedicated charging, but I've not used those.

There are several longish threads on exactly this topic, some with pretty recent updates. A little hunting should turn them up, especially with the term “verde green”. Those should give you a good start (if not a good answer).

I think you should use rivets like Toyota. If you're determined to bolt it on, just put a nut on the backside. But if you insist on going the unnecessary route of using rivnuts, trying to put an o-ring between the rivnut and the sheet metal seems like a seriously bad idea. A...

I’d say protecting with appropriate rustproof paint the bare metal exposed when you drill out the rivets is more important than an o-ring. Why not rivet it on again? If fhe first one lasted 18 years a good job replacing it will likely last longer.

Depending on how often you use it, @elisa7joy, you might be able to get by with a scissors jack or hydraulic bottle jack instead of a full floor jack. They're probably better on rough or uneven ground (with some sort of baseplate like a heavy plywood square), likely lighter, and more...
