Name of these straight line worm clamps....essentially modified band clamps

I've made those a number of times over the years by cutting a normal "circular" Jubilee clip, rounding off the cut edges, and drilling appropriately-sized holes in the free ends to bolt or screw them to the workpiece. Easy-peasy. You don't need to buy clips like that pre-finished. My ancient...

    I need the Snap Ring Size for a US-Made 44807 1/4" Ratchet

I have a couple of magnet-on-a-stick tools. The kind that extend like an old portable radio antenna. I’ve been able to find more stuff than I’d have guessed by “trolling” with the magnet, even in places I could’t really see. Well done on the measurements. It was always likely to be a simple...

    I need the Snap Ring Size for a US-Made 44807 1/4" Ratchet

You have the piece it locks into, both the selector and the body. Take a measurement of those. Or go hunting for the lost one (which is what I'd do). In the physical universe we live in, everything has to be someplace.

Remote Ignition Switch - is there such a thing? I need to turn 'accessory' on & off

Maybe check some Yukon forums? My Gen 2 Tacoma has a small secondary air injection pump as part of its emissions control systems that runs on startup and shutdown and makes sort of a fast clicky noise under the hood as it runs. Maybe the Yukon has something similar.

Grease Gun Storage Help - Leaks

I store our family’s old gun (small cartridge style) with pressure off in a plastic bag. The bag is often kept in my oil drain pan

Do you often use a 1/4" nut driver screwdriver?

I use nut drivers all the time. One of a minority of us, I guess, but I like ‘em.

How do Vessel Screwdrivers compare to Snap-on ?

    This is my experience too!

    Best tool drawer liner material?

I used that stuff sometimes in the past, but quit when the polymer it's made from attacked the plastic in a structural foam-molded tool stored that particular drawer. I stay away from it now.

How do Vessel Screwdrivers compare to Snap-on ?

I have both 900 and 930 Megadoras. I like and use both styles. More often than not I reach for the 930 first, although I can’t say why. Vessel has updated their cross-point “+” drivers in recent years by adding small teeth to the tip. I guess this JawsFit mod works, but truly from my...

    Rust prevention in door hems

Well, I'm at 5+ years and there's a good protective film in my doors still. I've seen no need to reapply there. But then, I'm living these days in a borderline rusty zone (Missouri), not like the brutal conditions of my home state (Ohio). And yes, no matter what one does, keep the door drains...

    Rust prevention in door hems

Fluid Film only needs to be touched up in areas that get a lot of road spray. And even there it’s probably more than’s strictly needed, because at least on my trucks there’s still what’s likely a protective layer in the splash-and-spray areas. In a cavity like inside a door, Fluid Film would...

    Rust prevention in door hems

Yess! I had my 2015 Tacoma on the lift last week for its annual Fluid Film spray-down, before starting the c 5000 mile trip through the southwest I’m now taking. The guys in the shop I use say mine is probably the best Tacoma for its age they’ve seen. My 2003 Tacoma is almost as good.

    December 2023 wire stripper thread.

I’ve used this pair for decades around the house and on my vehicles. They strip reliably, the pliers “nose” style gives good access in tight spaces, and they’re my go-to strippers out of all the styles I have. Probably older Weicon No 5 strippers sold under a private label, yes?

    December 2023 wire stripper thread.

I think that was the first kind I used, over fifty years ago as a kid hanging out in my car-guy neighbor‘s garage. I thought the mechanism was fascinating and they worked beautifully.

    Tools of Japan

I’m a big fan of Vessel. But not their ratcheting screwdrivers. The Japan-made ones I’ve had have been a combination of notchy ratcheting and floppy clearances. Not the company’s best work, IMO. Maybe the Thais can do better. Let us know what you think.

    December 2023 wire stripper thread.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll return to playing with it when I’m home in late January. I thought I’d done that adjustment bit, and I’ve tried them on numerous wires (which strip beautifully with my 20+yo Weicon-style stripper. It’s almost like the cutting edges were never sharpened.

    December 2023 wire stripper thread.

I got a pair of those after some hot deal on here a few years ago, branded Channellock IIRC. I’ve never gotten them to actually strip a piece of wire! The knives have never pierced any insulation. Quite amazing what total **** they are, in fact.

    Tools of Japan

The jaws look thin enough that that little nut-rounder might work as a bicycle hub cone wrench.

They're JDM tools available from Toyota in the home market. Note the Toyota part numbers.
