Help me date these ancient ARMSTRONG wrenches and check out the box they came in.

The large wrench isn't mismarked; before about 1927 wrenches were commonly marked with the bolt diameter rather than with the width of the nut. Here's an article from alloy artifacts: http://alloy-artifacts.org/table_oe_wrench.html

    Are Mid-depth Sockets Useful??

I've assembled some partial sets from singles I've picked up at flea markets and garage sales, but I've never actually needed one. They do look cool though.

    Craftsman Toolboxes (Light the fire!)

OP, the Craftsman boxes of old were built like tanks compared to today's models. That may be where some of the disdain comes from.

How do you guys store all your ratchets?

My solution may not be ideal, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I keep a few of each drive size in the drawers, and the rest get tossed (stored) in hand boxes.

    A plane with no name

There's usually a name stamped in the top of the blade (also called the iron). Might be hard to see if it's rusty.

So we've got green snap-on, how about orange craftsman?

Yes, I think Sears sold those individually (versus in sets) maybe back in the eighties. I remember seeing a few cardboard boxes of them set out at my local store, and I bought a few. I wish I had bought more, as they don't turn white and stink the way the clear handles do.

Where do you get your hickory handle replacements?

Yes, handles are designated by style (claw, ball-pein, tinner's, etc.) and then by the hammer's head weight in oz. Some hand fitting may still be required. But ordering handles can be iffy. I recently bought some from House Handle, and the grain runs the wrong way in all of them. I'll probably...

    Hammer ID

Sorry about that. Seriously, though, it looks like a weapon (but you said it's little, so maybe not). My best guess is it's an antique meat tenderizer. Here's one that's kind of similar: https://www.etsy.com/listing/191536652/mid-century-wood-and-steel-meat-mallet?ref=unav_listing-other

    Lisle Tools

It does depend on the individual tool. Some are fine; others (like the one-piece Torx bits) are junk.
