What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Got a tahoe rear torn down for a friend due to shot pinion bearings. Had to stop at this point due to family obligations. A lot of metal in there

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

^she definitely will. The backstory is she had a nice late model 2 door wrangler until last year. They had to sell it after getting pregnant and came over to test out our baby carrier that clips into the car seat base. There wasn't enough room to get the carrier into the back seat. After...

BendPak XPR-10, issue with safety latch

Sorry I didn't notice you took a pic of yours all the way down and it's actually touching the cylinder, not the carriage. I have a buddy coming over to use the lift tomorrow and will check it when down and take a pic. How tight have you pulled the release cable? It takes a good bit of...

BendPak XPR-10, issue with safety latch

Here's pics of my xpr-10a sitting on the lock. It does contact the carriage when it's released. That's so that it engages the lock squares if it fails or when setting it on the locks. Took pics to show the wear from mine "riding" on the carriage

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

What did you do "IN" your garage today? Helped a buddy out with a cj7 he just purchased as a Christmas present for his wife. We are trying to clean it up and address a few minor issues before the big day. She is going to flip out.

Where to place 2 post lift?

Most lifts you can locate the controls on either side. I put mine on the passenger side so when I pull a vehicle in I can set the arms on the drivers side, then go to passenger side and set the arms, then lift the vehicle without having to walk back around.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I don't know anything about this c'man or vises in general, except for how to use them. My grandfather (passed away in may) gave me this around 15 years ago when I bought my first house. He owned a flea market for over 25 years so there is no telling how he happened upon it. Does anyone know...

Adding lights to the shop, placement advice needed

Ended up going with four down the middle, and two on each side not on the 45 degree angle. I'm quite happy with how it turned out, I didn't realize how dark it was in there before. I think I will add two more lights to the sides of the front light that's over the work bench.

Adding lights to the shop, placement advice needed

Let me preface by asking you all to pardon my ignorance in non automotive electrical so I will do my best with descriptions/terms. I currently have 4 of the big 300 watt equivalent fluorescent bulbs lighting my 30'x30' shop. I needed some light in there quick and cheap a few years ago so I could...

Best impact sockets for the money for home use

I was looking for the same in a complete 1/2" set (std and metric/ short and deep) and ended up going with craftsman. Even though they are China, they had the most complete set I could find for much less than made in usa, plus I have a Sears about 8 miles from me if I break one. I struggled with...

That looks fantastic, love the color combinations, especially the orange on the front wall. I bet that tile is tough to keep clean but it looks great.

Picked these up today at ace hardware to give to a buddy for Christmas. He's really starting to get into wrenching on his own vehicles and figured a good buy at $30 for all of it.

^noted and thank you. The reason I asked for it is because of the price and the stubbies, which I don't have in ratcheting. Not a make or break for me because the normal length will back up the ratcheting wrenches I have, and how much torque can you put on stubbies? Good looking out researching...

    Got 56 HF box today

Go ahead and get the top box for it, you'll love it even more! It adds a lot of storage to the 56, plus it's fun to reorganize your tools. I had the bottom only for a year before getting the top, shouldn't have waited that long. Probably going to add the side box to keep...
