    Someone educate me on under cabinet lights,have cabinets in 3 separate locations with no easy way between them.Looking to install some type of LED's.What do I really need to rough in before the walls are closed up,i do have 110 VAC at each cabinet location now if I need power for a transformer.

    If it were up to me I would replace the saddle valve,cut it out and replace it with a tee and a 1/2" x 1/4" compression stop.Those saddle valves are junk,have a habit of collecting deposits in them and failing at just the right time.

    You guy's are putting way too much thought into simple solder,we solder pipe from 1/2" to 6" everyday using basic paste flux,lead free solder and a simple propane Turbo torch to heat it.We meet the specs on every job we do from a simple S/F home to the specs on a military base or public works...

    Plumbers........Does it hurt anything to have an inline trap on your toilet run?

    Double trapping a fixture is not good,especially a toilet.Vegatable oil in the trap will slow the evaporation.If you really want to do it the correct way,you would put a trap primer on the seldom used fixture trap.

    What sump pump do you recommend?

    The downfall of most pumps are the switch be it a float,mercury or diaphragm,the new one they are are pushing is a digital switch,can't say if if their good or bad yet.

    Bending hard copper pipe?

    If you find yourself using type L after all this advise you should be able to find it for the exact same price be it soft or hard drawn tube.I've been buying it since 1973 in small and extremely large quantities and have never paid a different price for soft vs. hard.

    Just remember that when you do thaw it your going to have to get that hose out of the main in a hurry when that water starts flowing.

    Throw an old blanket or something in it and have at it with a 12lb. sledge,helps to keep some of the debris from flying around.

    Buy a Ridgid and if you don't want to keep it,flip it on E-bay or Craigslist when your done,quality tools/dies/cutting oil will cut quality threads.

    1 & 1/4" sink drain has to have an easier install method..

    Sometimes just a little dab of pipe dope applied where the gasket meets the underside of the bowl works wonders,and don't over tighten them at the start.
