    Hot Dawg Gas line question

Gary I'm not sure if the're the same, but when we do pressure test on gas fireplaces both natural and propane we keep the valve closed at the unit. High pressures can damage the control valve, not sure if the same can happen to the hot dawgs. Bill

Best way to construct a 2 piece beam

I think I see a way to do it. Double up the beam close to the door then run joists over to the header above the garage door.

    Air line issue

The 3/8 hose is your problrm. The larger black pipe acts as storage. When you plug in a tool a use it the air dumps quickly from the back pipe but cannot be replaced fast enough thru the 3/8 line. Think of your air system like this. The compressor tank is the movie theater, the flex connector...

Need a new shop vac - recommendations?

I also recomend the Sears, mine's a older 2.0 six gallon model. It will out do most of the the bigger units. It will **** up golf balls nails and wood scraps. I like the large dia hose, less clogging. Now if you plan on sucking up a lot of water go for a bigger unit. Hard to beat at around 50...

Compressed air filter system may be too large

Try to make some space if you can, you'll love the DRY air . That is a nice unit, we have one at the body shop the same length but the canister is a bit bigger in dia. They work really well. Bill

    Where to Buy Insulation?

Look in your area for an insulation contractor, one that has a lot of trucks! Check with on buying from them. Alot of time is is a bit cheaper as they move more product and get better pricing. Most are happy to sell as it's just more product moved for them.

    drywall ceiling help!!!!!!

Consider the weight load you will be putting on the joist. Are these wood trusses? 24'is a long span for a 2 x 6 . I would check the truss or roof specs if possible before hanging much of a load on the bottom of the joist. Suspended grid may be the best option in your case. Bill

    cleaning the floor

If it's runny, clay oil-sorb works well. Dust pan and broom, shovel , pay the neighborhood kids to clean it up or just wait, it will eventually turn white dry up and blow away.

    Best source for DIY sheds?

As ohers have said build it yourself. You can make it any roof style you like with the benifits each has to offer. Barn style or a 12 12 or greater a frame roff will allow loft storage also. You may be limited to 10 x 12 but you can go up!. I was limited to 12 x 12. built mine with the same...

Splicing into a 240 Volt Circuit...?

How is the rest of the garage powered? Is there a subpanel in the garage that feed all the other outlets? If so that is where you need to pull power from, provided there is room in the panel for another circuit. Stay away from the other circuit for all the reasons above. My thoughts. Bill

    Before paining new drywall...

Yes it is best to remove as much dust for a qualityand long lasting paint job. Old white t shirts slightly damp work well, wrap one around the head of a pole sander to wipe down the walls helps speed thing up a bit. Make sure to prime first! Bill

    privacy fence

I have a wood fence that is going on 10 years old and is still in great shape. The main things to long life are build it from quality wood not the pre fab panels at homey lows. Stain it with a quality sealer stain not tommys water in a can. Mine was built from 3/4 x 6 pressure treated slats. It...
