"That punk pulled a Icon 9 on me. You know what that is? It's a porcelain plier made in Taiwan. It doesn't show up on your airport X-ray machines here and it costs less than what you make in an hour!" -Ply Hard 2

Icon Snap on long nose talon pliers coming out soon?

I figure HF 9" was first to initiate the fever buy, knowing full well that person will also buy the more useful 7" when released, as opposed to the 7" being first and the customer (me) knowing they're unlikely to buy the less useful 9" a year or so later.

All of the holders are like this now, regardless of metric/SAE I did modify mine a bit to open & close the way I wanted it to. The new design also allows for 1 more socket to squeeze in the rail.

Do all of the snap on ratchet handles interchange?

I think unless the actual handle is damaged (unlikely), a simple handle replacement would work fine. I see bunches of them on ebay etc., so I guess pick your preferred color and go for it!

Do all of the snap on ratchet handles interchange?

Yes. The grip is not a perfectly cylindrical design. eta: I am curious however about the rotation? My ratchet the text & indent are inline with the ratchet - not 90* as pictured. I don't know a whole lot about the CG history, so I'm not sure if yours is typical of the ratchet's generation, or...

Gonna lurk this OR-ish thread as I am also looking to find some decent non-insl crimps and good heat shrink.

    Show off your.... Carlyle Tools!!!

I like the little wave of wiring tool acquisitions :) I was a bit surprised at how narrow the handles are on the needlenose models, but they do have smooth action etc. and I'm not usually cutting screws. I mainly got the set for the WSCCP, but I can see all of them getting use at some point...

Her: "Honey, the fan stopped working." Me: *squints eyes* "Finally." Fan got a little spa day with some unnecessarily swank PBs that were waiting for their day to shine. Back in action, but I was shocked by how much dust these accumulate - gotta love the high desert life!

    Hellermann pliers

I think you are correct. A quick search yielded a similar deduction: https://www.forum-outils-anciens.com/t11299-Devinette-pince-3-becs.htm?start=30 Will need to translate to English, but it also has some fairly humorous responses.

Carlyle (NAPA) 3 Pc. Wire Stripper Pliers Set (Includes WSCCP) - $42.60 (was $141.99)

A few weeks ago I was helping a buddy wire up some taillights on his van and he was using the green MAC versions and I thought they'd make a good truck bag pair. Low & behold I started looking today and of course find this thread. Way better deal! Thanks! 😁

Help me pick a service cart

Do this. The 5 drawer is pretty nice after a few tweaks, and I'll bet you can easily open up a few holes and fab up a lowered mount to allow the larger/longer handles to clear the closed lid. Half the fun of a cart like this is tuning it to your own preferences and particular needs.

Where's your pulley?? 😜 Another nice thing is the bag could be used as a damper (even though barely anyone seems to use them with rope)
