This. They are rather tough and if they do go kablooey - according to the product's video, they have a no-questions-asked replacement.

Please tell me whether this is a bad idea...

People take care of their stuff in any way they see fit?! Un-possible!

Is there parts available for this unit? Do you think it's worth $1,000

And people used to watch the marvel of black & white television in their very own home. What's yer point?

You now have 2 perfectly functional, built-as-intended sets of pliers. Go forth and use them often. This makes me think about a GameStop-style warranty blitz, where every Snap-On owner warranties everything they own at once just to see what the company would do...

Electric Ratchet - Manually Brake Fastener First?

Definitely guilty of occasionally this, but no issue yet...(knock wood) My worry is breaking bolts free with the M12 battery being used a bit as leverage. I stay under 14mm with the ratchet, but staying on the handle isn't always possible.

    Glass cleaner

Pretty much this. I like the performance of Sprayway, but struggle with the odor. Good vid on the process: How to Super Clean the INSIDE of Your Windshield (No Streaks)

    Noco Jump Boxes

I have a GBX45 for my 3.4L 4Runner and it has performed admirably over the past few years. If you're going that small (40) I'd recommend going to the X series for only a few dollars more.

It looks like there should not be grip there - as in the 1st position, the teeth would be pushing against nothing. It is a machining step to allow the fuse feature to align, but not have useless extra teeth on one side.

Need a long 1/4 drive breaker bar

Was thinking the Tekton version - looked to see if their old 6 pt. model was still on clearance, but it's new only. Stick (magnetize?) a 1/4" hex to 1/4" square drive in there and off you go!

    Show your new tool arrivals

I wouldn't go that far, but they do command a bit more premium price. The large/small are going for ~ $140 today. Totally worth it!

Are you referring to the actual tip misalignment, or the flat spots? The alignment is not that severe (unless you're a penny), and the flat spots align when in the outer slip-joint positions for removing fuses.
