The sound of an overhead door extension spring letting go inches above my head. Twice. Thankfully, I had installed safety cables or I might not be hearing anything!

Wanted to build a small tool kit for around the house. Subconsciously displayed an aversion to brand loyalty.

I was thinking same thing. I'd go 440 and 422. That gets you two sizes and two jaw types. Spread the bets a bit.

The dilemma of locking up my tools

My old house sat on a corner lot, intersection of two busy streets. Lots of pedestrian and vehicular traffic and plenty of garage gazers. So...garage door was always shut and locked unless it needed to be open. When open, I had some old blankets that I used to cover my chest and roller cabinet...

Old late 70's Craftsman Hobby Tool Kit (dremel) in sealed package

Got one of those for a gift in the early 70s. Burned it up in no time flat trying to port cylinders for two stroke dirt bikes. Wrong tool for the job. I was only about 14 or 15 at the time so that's my excuse!

FT Worth TX Craftsman Tool release

Not to be all morbid and everything but...I believe SBD acquired the brand in 2017? Here we are five years later with no (or few) USA made tools to show for it. Think of all the potential customers of a certain age who passed on or otherwise aged out of the market in that time. These were...

    Need Recommendations for Temporary Heat

I used propane for emergency heat just to avoid the stink factor. As a plus, you can always use the bottles for your grill.

What's the torx and hex combination socket called?

This^^^^^ I'm pretty sure that bolt is designed for either/or use. Crack it loose with wrench, run it out with a Torx driver.
