Talk to me what Garage Size!

Remember, no one ever wishes they had built a smaller garage. 40' will let you go two vehicles deep or accommodate a good-sized 5th wheel or motor home.

You could do a lot of nice stuff to that truck for the cost of the epoxy!

I'm happy with the lights. Pretty even lighting throughout. I have plenty of them though with 5 rows of 4 in the 24 x 40 area.

Subscribed. It is fascinating watching those guys work. One thing I've learned during this process is to be flexible and patient. Next up girts!

On the front side of the mezzanine in the mancave area, I wanted something other than the osb. These are fir 5/8 fence boards with a little stain on them. - about the cheapest thing I could find and actually less than the osb!

Right now there is just a thin batt insulation with vinyl facing ib the ceiling. It's mostly there to prevent condensation from forming on the ceiling. I have been trying to decide if I'm going to add more. I figure I could reduce energy losses by about 20%. But it would cost me about $2K...

In-Floor Heat with Auxiliary Modine Unit Heater in Workshop

I'm really interested in this discussion. I have in-slab radiant but have a mancave in a loft. I have considered adding a modine in the loft area to make it a little warmer on occasion. What is not clear to me is how much heat I can really get from the modine with the same temp water (100...

    Bad Breaker?

Thanks, folks. It's a hard-wired, indoor, lights-only circuit in my detached garage. I had the extra AFCI so went ahead and used it. They are square D homeline type. Overall, I haven't had any issues with the breakers, but swapping this one for a simple 15amp breaker would be pretty easy...

    Bad Breaker?

I'm using AFci/GFci breakers for the lights and outlets in my shop. (So far, I have had no problems) A couple of weeks ago, I flipped the switch on for my loft lights and the breaker tripped. I reset the breaker, hit the switch again, and it tripped again. Then I left the switch on (got tired...

The side posts are 8" deep. I framed the space in between the posts with 2x6, so the posts stand 2" proud of the wall face. The corner posts are only 6x6, so you can see that they are not exposed. The coloring is actually from the industrial treatment process. There is nothing "natural" left...

    High bay light positioning?

I would just evenly space them ( on your 40' dimension lights at 5', 15', 25' and 35') I think you'll have plenty of light and minimal shadow. But, you can always add some task lighting.

I have some time off between Christmas and New Year. Made some progress on the OSB. I know wall covering is a hot button on the forum  But this is reclaimed OSB. Can't beat the price.
