Shop vac. If you get small metal slivers in your hands and can't get them with tweezers, rub a piece of scotch Brite on the area, should get it out.

Sounds like you changed your tune there. Looks like an old ratchet. Then, they're ok. I like wright tools, own more than a few. What else can be contributed besides opinions at this point?

I've gotten burned twice going to look at drill press vises. The moving jaw was positioned to cover the severe apprentice marks in both cases, while the rest of the vise appeared fine. I found a couple of Cardinal speed vises that weren't full of holes, so now I shouldn't have to worry about it...

Kinda late to the party, I have a vintage Lufkin aluminum yard stick that I use to unlock my Lista. No modifications, the yard stick is nice and thin but wide enough to push the lock bars. The lock on mine was drilled previously, and it gets picky if you take the drawers out and put them back...

Both are chrome plated, the shiny ones just get extra polishing.
