Stickers tags and decals. If they don’t have at least one of those definitely not new old stock. I know people reproduce them now but you can the difference. I had a nos toddler with the tag and box and have had hundreds of vises the difference is obvious to those of us who know
Also an extremely rare one. The wiltomatics are regardless of size are extremely hard to come by. I am not sure how many of each remain but have seem broken ones sell for $700 alone.
If it’s really nos with a tag or box not just in good shape it very rare. Figure the are possible only a few hundred out there for the 450sj vs 10000’s of standard bullets
These are three of the rarest made Wilton’s vises
Left to right
A3450 Wilt-O-Matic 4.5” jaws
Wilton Glisent 125 indestructible vise 5” jaws
Wilton 350SJ rear jaw 3.5” jaws
So I’m gonna try this again for my friend. I had two people make fair offers and then reneged on the offers after making me jump through hoops. I won’t name names. I will simply share my friend is trying to sell his 8.5“ vise. located just north of Chicago. He is going to accept the best offer...
Here are two of my Rebuilt, Refurbished or restored Wilton bullets depending on your judgment of what your level of perfection is. I will say they were both non functional when I got them so enjoy!
The two are the following
1st A3450 Wilt-o-matic
2nd 350js Wilton rear jaw
The pin is going to have to be drilled out. I have done 100’s of vises so no novice but after it’s had heat, Kroil, pb blaster, acid(clr), electrolysis, 1 ton press, 5 ton press, impact gun, mallets, air tools etc. it’s not coming out sadly
So I got this for a steal and I am aware of how rare this model is but what a basket case.
It’s completely seized when it came in still can’t get the jaws apart appears to have a small crack in the body from where the pin was under the swivel jaw also the rear pins holding the female appears...
It’s definitely been different post covid. I know it sounds bad but during covid and beforehand vintage rare stuff popped up regularly I.e weekly. I would say post covid a lot of the old collectors have since passed away so the hunny holes are less. The bigger issue is when you find something...
Same, I spent last night repeatedly cleaning it. I decided it’s too nice to stay my non temperature controlled Garage. I think it’s gonna stay in my house and still be used.
Yeah when I came across that set I was almost giddy. I haven’t sold it yet but that should allow me to collect a few more useful things or at least pay for part of a new set of tires for my truck.
Ever have one of those good weekends of finding stuff, then flipping one or of it to pay for it all and then
The finds
Only sold the small craftsman box with random tools and Wilton vise to pay for the rest
It’s something 😂. It’s honestly more useful then my emmert pattern maker and probably sees more use then my wilt-o-matic so it’s very versatile and useful.
FYI this is an amalgamation of parts. I took parts from an old broken Wilton suction vise along with a motherboard vise for the clamp base and the magnifying glass and clips are I believe from a fly tying tool. The vise can rotate on every axis and has two jaws that rotate. It’s an amazing tool...
