    Frankenstein vise

So this is actually three different vise all from the broken parts box of all my vices, I put them together to make probably the most useful vise you could imagine. Of course yes, the welds are atrocious(harbor freight pos), and they will be sanded and ground back at some point, but I wanted to...

    What’s your holy grail tool?

Guys aren’t but people today on the Internet are and your response is normally indicative of a very woke person who wants to start a fight when no ill will was intended.

    What’s your holy grail tool?

Sorry if my assumption that you were a guy triggered you. I forgot the internet is a safe space. Damn I didn’t realize people were so sensitive on this group.

    What’s your holy grail tool?

Then you’re a very lucky man. I feel yah though when I first started out it was just to get enough tool to continue teaching blacksmithing once the school closed. I then got into buying and selling to pay for my last dogs medical treatments. Now I have 99% of what I need and and want. I actually...

    What’s your holy grail tool?

This should be fun. It’s all about the tool you have been wanting for forever. It doesn’t matter if the tool is rare or out of your budget etc. Here are the rules 1. What is it and why do you want it? 2. Provide a photo even if you don’t own it. 3. Story behind how you got it(if you obtained...

    Kleen kut?

Well as I picked it up in Chicago about 4 miles from there clearly didn’t travel far 😂 You guess is as good as mine on the stamp.

    Kleen kut?

It clearly has the Kleen kut stamp so I assume that’s a company but haven’t found anything about them. Vulcan was used by everyone back in the day.

    Kleen kut?

Anyone know anything about the use of this guy? I picked the three of these up at an estate for $2 I assumed the other two probably would have been used for lead work. I figure engraving or stamping for the Kleen Kut. Thoughts?

    M18 sander

Yeah I generally follow the battery platform rule. Stick with the batteries you got. I will say that when I need plug and play stuff it’s festool as the quality and warranty are far superior to anything else.

    Milwaukee M18 dual battery

I believe there’s a video of a dude on YouTube literally rewiring some m 18 tool to handle two batteries. I’m sure you can Google it.

    M18 sander

I actually got lucky I checked the S number. I still got six months left on the five-year plan and lucky for me about a mile and a half away is one of the Milwaukee repair stores.

    M18 sander

Yeah I didn’t buy it new so fairly certain it’s past the date. That’s why I asked, I normally buy my stuff at flea markets at least my M 18 stuff, I figured it was a longshot, but didn’t know if someone found it with some cheap plastic part I could buy kind of situation.

    M18 sander

So I picked this sander up a couple years ago and beat the hell out of it. For the past year I have had problems with it stop spinning when pressure was added but started spinning again once the pressure was removed. I took it partly apart to clean and once I put it back together it’s rotates...

    Most hated carpenter bench

Yeah happens I have brought and restored 50+ of them over the years. I would suggest checking estate sales they pop up for reasonable prices from time to time

    Most hated carpenter bench

Not paint 😂 It’s a two part epoxy with about 6 different blue pigments.

    Most hated carpenter bench

Thanks, I like it. It’s a play on a Japanese technique called Kintsugi. I have been working on another one that will used epoxy mixed with reclaimed gold leaf at some point.

    Most hated carpenter bench

It’s actually the Great Lakes but very similar. It’s not geographically correct but I didn’t intend it to be as it wouldn’t look right. I it already had the original bolts which were tightened but the wood was so dry rotted I couldn’t tighten them much.

    Most hated carpenter bench

I like it the way it is as well. I will be remaking the base as the scrap wood isn’t holding up and needs to be oak I think.

    Most hated carpenter bench

I actually enjoy the hate I get for this bench. LET ME BE CLEAR! This was heading to the garbage before I got it. It had No vises, base, over 500 drill holes and the worst rot on the top I have ever seen. It couldn’t be planed flush it would have needed large sections cut out. I bought it...
