Ratchet repair...or replace it. Raised Panel 1/2"

I wasn't sure if Lowes would do that or not. There is some slight sentimental value there, I also have money to just buy a new ratchet, and this isn't the only ratchet I own. I don't use 1/2" ratchets very often to be honest and as I think about it I probably should get me a longer 1/2" anyway...

Ratchet repair...or replace it. Raised Panel 1/2"

I have a 1/2" Craftsman raised panel ratchet that the selector switch has broken off. No idea how it happened but it was there and then a minute later it wasn't. I did an ebay search and it looks like repair kits still exist for about 25 bucks. I can buy a new ratchet of dubious craftsman...

    Are Air Compressors still necessary?

The big compressor in the garage rarely gets used, I use my small pancake compressor pretty regularly.

Euco Diamond Hard for shop floor?

Not great help, but I swear I have seen this applied in warehouses around me. I haven't actually seen it going down but I have seen the buckets on the jobsite. We usually show up just after the floors get sealed. It seems to dry really fast though, they are usually telling us we can get on it...

    Patching subfloor holes

It all depends on what you are gonna put over it. If I was running tile or hardwood over it I wouldn't bother patching those. If it was carpet I would make a plug with a holesaw and put some sort of backer under it. No need to be fancy, just need it filled.

    LiFePO4 batteries explosion risk mitigation

This is the right answer if you have large qty of lithium batteries there are detectors to watch for thermal runaway or failed bms. It is NOT common for Lifepo4 to have this sort of issue and having an enclosure that is vented would reduce a lot of the risk.

    Makita XWT14 VS DeWalt DCF921

So, this is where it is at. For me it is the reliability factor. Sure, the price of batteries is too high in my opinion but I have only had a couple batteries in 20 years that got to the point of "I can't use them anymore". I have still hung onto them because they will still power the radio for...

    Makita XWT14 VS DeWalt DCF921

Do you already have other makita or dewalt tools? If you do I would stick with the platform you have. The majority of my stuff is makita so that would be my choice. I have a non-brushless 1/2" impact and like it a lot but I really only use it a few times a year. I should probably get a 3/8", I...

Porcelain tile in garage in Canada

Man, so much misinformation here it's wild, can't even address it all and don't want to hurt everyone's feelings... Tile is a premium product and should command a premium price. If price is what you are most concerned with then it isn't the right choice. If having a premium floor then keep the...

    Hogwire panels with 3" x 3" mesh?

They sell black painted "hog wire" at HD and Lowes and they are 4" squares with 6 ga wire and it is sold specifically for railings. I think you will be fine with the 4" center panels that you have.

    Making the battery Makita won't.

I'm having trouble finding the same ones that you all used, I just seem to be coming up with 12ah version which is bigger than I wanted. I'm not great at Aliexpress searching...

    Making the battery Makita won't.

Curious how people's experience is continuing with these? I need a few batteries to abuse in a blower and trimmer and didn't want to risk my expensive makita batteries and thought about trying some of these? Am I better off not using the makita chargers?

    Makita Addiction Thread

Hey all, a while back I remember seeing a post from a guy that made some higher capacity makita compatible batteries. I have searched but am not using the right terms I guess. Anyone by chance remember what that post was? I don't think it was within this one. Looking to abuse some batteries in...

Need help choosing a storage shed

By blow away, I mean more like it blows apart and ends up in pieces in the neighbors yard. It is pretty sturdy I guess but it doesn't sound like it when the wind blows hard it just sounds like its going to come apart. The neighbor behind me has one that is like 18 years old and still looks...

    2x6 wall 12" c-c spacing

As mentioned, the best course is to talk to the engineer and see what they can do. The framers that did my house missed a lot of notes and the engineer had to come out and walk it with me to find solutions. All the solutions were pretty simple and not a big deal (yes, following plan originally...

Need help choosing a storage shed

I needed a small shed and my plan was to get something to just get me by until I was ready to build a bigger nicer one. I went with an Arrow and regret it. It is rickety, short, and I am always worried it will blow away. It's fine I guess for the job its doing but I wish I would have just spent...

Ground Stakes Getting Pulled Out of Ground by Ratchet Strap?

Some pictures of what you are doing and what you are holding down would be great but I have switched to using 1/2-5/8 rebar cut to the length I want and driving those in. The ridges on the rebar hold onto the ground really well and I can make them as long as I feel is needed depending on what I...

    Troweled on liquid nails removal

Curious, but have you tried hitting it with one of these floor scrapers? Razor Scraper I use these for everything stuck to the floor and it works pretty good and should take a lot of that up without an extreme amount of work. I use it to take thinset off concrete, drywall mud, glue, vct glue...

I would for sure try to get 2-3 quotes and then go with the one that you seem the most comfortable with.
