    The OKnife U1 Utility Folder

I have a different knife on me today but I will verify when I get home but I am pretty sure it is possible to open one handed. Not as easy as my spiderco. I don't think I could with gloves on but I will verify.

    The OKnife U1 Utility Folder

This has been my go to. Gerber Armbar I need the knife and bit driver all the time at work. Not a replaceable blade but it seems to be holding up fine and sharpens easy enough. Forgot, I also have the Klein 44304 but didn't love it.

    Makita Addiction Thread

I picked up a new 18v blower and weed trimmer (XBUO3Z and XUXO25M1X1). I have a different Makita trimmer that I have been using for 4-5 years and liked a lot. My son has been starting to mow a few lawns in the neighborhood and there has been more than once that I wanted to do some weekd trimming...

    Simple, sturdy thermal break?

Nothing thin is going to do anything to help this... At this point not worth doing anything.

    Tung Oil on concrete?

Well pure tung oil is natural, food safe and non-toxic, so it shouldn't have any VOCs. VOC's are carbon based solvents. I think most VOC's (all??) are man-made chemicals.

    Tung Oil on concrete?

I have done some more looking and I found one person that said they mixed tung oil 50:50 with mineral spirits and another that said 50:50 with kerosene and that works better. No idea, I am curious if this stuff from RMP is cut with something? Just cause my curiosity is peaked I may ask them if...

    Tung Oil on concrete?

This wasn't new, it had been in for years I would guess. So no smell at all. Why wouldn't it cure? Tung oil cures when exposed to oxygen, so being out in the air it is going to cure. I would assume the warmer and dryer the environment the faster it would cure? It wasn't slippery at all...

    Tung Oil on concrete?

I recently saw a garage/shop floor and I asked the guy about his floor finish. He said it was Tung Oil. I really liked the look of it and he said it was holding up great for him. It was a woodworking shop, so not a mechanics shop but still it looked good and he had a lot of equipment in there...

    RV Converter Question

I have had multiple RV's and never had a problem operating anything with dead batteries/no batteries when plugged into 120v. If output is not over 12v from the converter than I can't see how the converter would be good. When you check voltage are you checking directly at the converter after...

    RV Converter Question

It sounds like the converter is bad to me. I haven't checked voltage but on mine the awning and slide move faster when running off the converter vs just the battery so I have to assume the converter is putting out more volts than the battery. If yours is only showing 8.5 to 9.9 then something is...

    New Basement Staircase build advice

In old houses, sometimes it is what it is and you can't do anything about it. If you can't make any adjustments to the opening size you don't have much choice. That said, when I was a kid we flipped our stairs and due to how the framing was with the flip the opening was essentially smaller in...

Plumbing! PEX A Expansion Tool (USA Made Dewalt)

The number of times I have had tools show up at bad times... Now, when stuff is coming near holidays I just make sure to say "Don't open any packages that come, don't want to ruin any surprises!" Case in point, I had a makita 4 port charger with 4 batteries show up a week before mothers day...

    Strux Cabinets in garage?

I don't have any but I mean it is powder coated mdf. I'm sure its fine but I don't know that its really much better than any other good quality cabinet. I am sure it will work just fine in a garage. I know I have heard about powder coated mdf before and its supposed to be pretty durable. I just...

Hard Start vs Soft Start-Help me understand better?

I looked at that and it seems I have seen those on the RV forums for AC units. They seem to have a good reputation. They aren't terribly expensive, maybe I should look into getting one.

Hard Start vs Soft Start-Help me understand better?

Probably, but it wasn't expensive, can't remember now but I think it was like 40-50 bucks and the service call was all warranty, so I didn't really get charged for the two guys there other than the 40-50 bucks.

Hard Start vs Soft Start-Help me understand better?

Now that it's warming up again and I fired up the AC in the house it reminded me of something. About a year ago my AC stopped working, fairly new unit. I had a tech come out and he determined the Capacitor was bad. Anyway, it was two guys, they spoke spanish and I speak a bit of spanish, so I...

    Residential Air Handler help (freezing)

I had a similar issue a handful of years ago, I think it may have been Carrier, and the tech used his sniffer to find the leak (on the coil on the outdoor unit). Carrier said for warranty they had to try to solder the pin hole first before replacing. The guy did the repair, looked more like...

Ratchet repair...or replace it. Raised Panel 1/2"

I probably will look into reaching out about the warranty but I don't have much need to keep an old ratchet around that is broken. I also don't really have that much of an issue spending 25 to fix it, its not that much money.

Quality of Husky Tools from Home Depot

I have one older set of Husky screw drivers that I really really like and a newer set that I really don't like. I have some metric and sae ratching wrenches that have been great. I have a few odds and ends of single wrenches that I bought when out of town on jobs and they are all great and live...
