Home Depot RYOBI Days Sale: 2 Batteries + Free Tool for $99

Last weekend I tried to order online the supercharger as the free tool with the 4ah battery deal. Spent 90 minutes on the phone with HD customer service and they couldn't make it happen. It kept coming $99 plus $79. Went to the store and it rang up $99 for both. So if you run into problems...

    Father's Day Gift Ideas

I'll be that guy... Anything really useful in that price range I would already have, don't even try. I'd rather it was spent on a couple of good steaks, beer and a couple of hours of frank talk about how my son is doing with his life. Better than that would be anything my son spent some...

    The Ryobi Tool Appreciation/Review Permathread!

Got the Water Broom about a month ago and it rocks. I use a surface cleaner on my pebble finish driveway and patio and it does a good job loosening the dirt but most of the dirt just settles back down in the pebbles. I had been using the wand to push the dirt away and the broom has three...

I've never walked into a Harbor Freight store....

In addition what others have said, I like their variety-packs of small stuff like cotter pins, o-rings, etc. If I see one on sale that I don't have I grab it. There's many, many times those variety packs have saved me a trip to the store hunting for the right sized something or other. I've had...

Looking for Inexpensive AC/DC Clamp Meter

I had a Uni-216 "c" I think for four years and then the voltage readings started showing about 2/3 of actual. It was and still is about $95 on Amazon. Amazon has this one, but the low price is actually keeping from buying it ...

How to cut a square hole in stainless

AVE has a video how to do this. He doesn't do it on stainless and I don't know if it matters. Basically make broaching tool or drill a hole and use a file to square the corners. Not nearly as fast as a punch, but it works.

    Screw in light fixtures???

I use these in my attic with dollar store LED bulbs; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Y7J663U/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They replaced fixtures with 100w circular florescent bulbs, the difference in output was tremendous. i have pizza sized foil pan liners behind them...

    Air or Battery Ratchet?

Forty years ago when I worked on motorcycles butterfly air ratchets were what we used. You could hit almost everything straight on and the butterfly was much easier and faster than a traditional ratchet. Now, I think I'd use a small battery impact driver.

    Best Electric Pressure Washer

Check out the YouTube series by Obsessed Garage. He tests every big box store electric he could find. But I think he uses a Kranzel professionally. What I came away with was you won't get more than 1.2 - 1.6 gpm unless you spend $500+ I'm going to buy the $99 Ryobi, looks like it will do a...

What is the best cheapo home toolset?

    Unwanted Sockets

In addition to the above, they are handy if you need a spacer or need to drive a seal or press out bushings, etc. Hammering over a wheel lock when you can't find the key is another use for cheap sockets. Slingshot Ammo ? Put them in can if you need to weigh something down.

    Quality Pocket Knife

And they are on sale for $4.99 (inside track club). I got two of them, they seem decent enough to me. I'll use them for opening boxes and cutting rope and hoses. No plans for prying or batoning. Time will tell. The clip can be used in all four positions.

Please use quality jackstands to support any vehicle you're going to work under...

About 40 years ago I had my car on ramps up front and two stamped steel jackstands in the back. I was just getting started on pulling the trans when I heard one of the back stands groan. The car stared rolling down the ramps and I had just enough time to try to find a high spot under the car to...
