    Simpson Power Washer

I bought a Subaru at Costco a few years ago, ~$240.00. I think it is a good residential unit but it's only one I have ever used. It has electric start which I never considered essential until I hurt my rotator cuff. I lust after higher end units but really they would just be a luxury. The one...

    Central AC Repair Questions

For reference my house was built in 95 and had two York systems. One of them went 21 years before the AC started to leak and was totally shot two summers later. The furnace lasted 23 years. I replaced the system as one after 19 years while running window AC's for two years and no furnace for a...

    Dewalt 18v battery options?

My Dewalt 18v charger killed my batteries, one of them actually smoked for 24 hours after i pulled it off the charger. Leaving me needing both a charger and new batteries. I had bought my wife a Dewalt 20v kit so I bought the 20v to 18v Dewalt adapter kit with two 20v batteries so we can share...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

Nah, they know you'll use a screwdriver to scrape gaskets so they included one with the angled tip. Also handy for punching holes through metal, like paint cans with stuck lids. :)

Goodman gmp075-3 furnace wont stay lit HELP!

FWIW, my house has the furnaces plugged into a 110v duplex outlet in the attic. It's ~25 years old. Did he measure the wires to see what voltage was there? Basic rule is to measure after pulling power, but we've been guilty of not doing that at some point (usually until something bad happens).

Goodman gmp075-3 furnace wont stay lit HELP!

I've had this at my house a couple of times. Tech shrugged it off as "it happens". If my memory serves, he said I could do it myself by swapping the 120v ac wires on the transformer around. After that last time it hasn't happened again in a couple of years. Naturally, you should cut the power to...

    I need a HF generator

Many consumer battery backups use modified sine waves and they have worked with electronics for a long time past. I've not run a TV or refrigerator off one, but many PC's and monitors, routers, cable modems, printers... I have run my PC/internet equipment and big screens and refrigerators off...

    I need a HF generator

Look at the power requirements for your electronics. Most of them have a power supply built for world wide use and can handle a wide range of voltage and frequency. This way they can just change the power cord for whatever market they are sold in without modifying the actual unit.

    Home AC help

Did any of the techs clean your condenser coils? If they are clogged or partially clogged that could increase the load on the fan. I had a fan motor burn up due to that, actually two but I only paid for one. The company that replaced it thought the coil was clean enough but the new fan motor got...

House central AC problem diagnose help ASAP

Has anybody here used an Emerson Sure Switch? I bought spare caps and a sure switch when my systems got old. My spares outlasted the evap coils and I replaced the system before I needed the caps or the ESS. The new system has a ten year parts warranty so it might be a long time before I try the...
