I would love to get some feedback from others on using Flood Penetrol on vintage and antique tools, as a way to maintain an original look and patina but also put a clear coat on it. I am thinking of doing this on a large 1946 Wilton vise instead of paint. Any thoughts?

Do you cats like Flood Penetrol for putting a clear coat on bare metal? I have a wilton 4.5 vise i am thinking about doing this to.

Here's a home-engineered farmer's grinder station that offers two motors turning 2 buffing wheels, 2 wire brushes, and one grinding wheel. It is pretty ingenious the way the arbor is set up with bearings. It really is a neat 'folk art' piece. The last pic is my old Stanley 586...gave 5 bucks...

Yowza.....pretty heavy duty and awesome grinder head. Can't seem to find another. Great quality...this is the heaviest bench-top belt-drive I have seen.

I dig the 2.5 inch..I have one...I think it is model 825. FYI the chicago labeling makes the vise made in the late 40s (probably) but not assembled until 1969 when it was stamped.....according to my research.

I really love my (I think) 1950's Rem Line tool box stack. Got it at Brimfield Fleas for 175. I have cleaned it up a little and making drawer liners for it. A person could spend many hours cleaning this. I am only doing kind of a light cleaning because I don't have more time. Maybe someday...

In the same buy, I picked up the homecraft scroll saw with cabinet and motor, red wing buffer, craftsman grinder stand, and the 66 grinder. 200. So many deals....and so little space left in my garage and basement...

I was incorrect on the year...in looking at this (i just now unloaded it) it has a stamp of 1966 on the bottom. I do have a coupl 1/4 blocks that are 1959...really heavy and spin for over a minute after shut down. So I dont have time to get to it today but I will take the tray off the bottom...

If yours is aluminum it is 69ish I would think. This one is the old cast iron. The switch should be different among other things. The date code on mine is 19590

I do not have a way to plug into a 220. I have not seen the unit run...bought it on faith. But i ALSO GOT in the package a Red wing huge jelly-bean shaped 1950'sish buffer that hummed really sweetly and a delta 1950s scroll saw - with belt drive motor in a cabinet - in minty condition. 200...

This is a pic of the 1966 1/2 hp industrial rating. Cord is spliced in the middle and a 220 plug is on the end. Need to revert back to 110......???

So I picked up a 1/2 horse 1959 craftsman block grinder last night...drove an hour in the rain to Narragansett RI....THING IS BEAUTIFUL CONDITION ON THE STAND....industrial rated with lamp and eye shields. Question....it has a 220 plug on it. Is there anything I have to do to make it run 110...

I agree...I like to use the wire wheels with no guards....but I wear goggles and , depending on what I am handling, leather gloves.
