Does Napa have higher quality auto parts than AZ/AAP/O'Reilly?

My reason for using NAPA on many parts is the parts guys there are old school parts guys (at my location) and not a non-car guy asking for the VIN like most of the chains near me.

Combination drill and tap - a gimmick?

I have been using them for years. I have so far only been using the Greenlee branded ones. I have broken plenty over the years but all mostly due to my improper use. I am considering trying to Milwaukee brand as they are impact rated?

    Neutral to switch

Lots of smart switches and some dimmers require a neutral now. When swapping out a regular switch many people would tie the switch neutral to the ground. This would cause the ground to become a current carrying conductor and it is not supposed to be used that way. Code now requires a neutral at...

    Waterproofing paint?

I finally had a chance to post some pictures. This was built this way 55 years ago but as you can see time has enlarged the cracks. Here are a couple pictures from inside the bulkhead looking out showing the curbing/seam? Here you can see the dampness, most likely the biggest leak? And...

    Waterproofing paint?

Thanks for the replies. I am the only care giver to my 93 year old father with Alzheimer's and dementia. I will try to get pictures and post them in the next day or two. There is not enough time in the day sometimes. It is a full concrete basement with a 4-6" concrete curb to raise the bulk...

    Waterproofing paint?

I have a metal bulk head going into my basement. The cement/concrete curbing it is installed on has developed some cracking. Our basement has been dry for 50 years but now when it rains heavy it now leaks into the basement. What product would coating or painting those cracks and foundation would...

    Rocks

Where to get rid of about a pick up bed sized pile of rocks. There is some cobble stones and red brick mixed in. I swear there is more rock than dirt in my yard. I really don't want to have to pay to get rid of it. If I dig a hole to bury them I'll just end up with more rocks.

Insulation: Ceiling Joist Spacing Not Standard

Strapping across all those joists and then unroll the insulation on top of it. You would have to cut some to fit the leftover space. Would probably be cheaper than adding two by fours at 16 or 24 inch on center.

    Best type of splice

What size junction box? There are rules as to the size depending straight through or change direction. Since you are asking for 90 degree connectors I will assume you are changing directions and have too small of a junction box. I read your other thread. Please call an electrician.

    Makita 12v 1/2” Impact Gun—Lugnut Fail!

I have had the IR 1/2" cordless impact since they first came out. They were the baddest cordless out there at the time. And the batteries seem to last a long time and hold a charge when unused forever. They have since had more powerful offerings from Milwaukee and others. I have only had 1 bolt...
