    Hay Budden 188# Anvil

Take some pics of the face so we can get a better idea on pricing. I would agree with organ on price if the face is decent. Even if the face isn't in good condition there are still people willing to buy them for a pretty penny. I love old anvils! I wish I could afford one but my railroad track...

For you ********* tool junkies out there...

The thing I really love is to see people going out and making their own products and making money. It makes me want to do the same. I will say I like logo on the side of the head. Hatchets look pretty good too.

    Knipex Pliers!!!

I have the 10 inch if I recall. I learned about them from a couple of guys at work. They really do have a million uses. My main use was to squeeze rivets ( I used to work in the field of aircraft maintenance/repair). I love them!

Case for Porter Cable belt sander

I have a 3x18 ryobi that I have been using quite a bit lately. I usually just put it in the bottom drawer of my roll cab when I'm not using it. If you have an orbital sander, you could buy a big hand box and store both of them in the same one, taking up the rest of the space.

    Sunex 7750b Rebuild Help

I really hate to comment on this post because I have absolutely no experience with this jack, or even with a trans jack in general, but maybe you should look for a diagram of a different brand jack, and hope that it uses similar components. Also, I just searched transmission jack cylinder...

Adjustable wrenches - when to use?

I keep a few sizes of adjustable wrenches hung up on my peg board. I usually use them when I am tinkering with something and don't want to walk to the tool box. I use them a lot at work for AN fittings, believe it or not. You just have to be careful with them, keep them clamped tight to the...

    Decent Short tape measures?

I just recently bought the Stanley lever lock in 12' length. It seems like a gimmick but I am actually really liking it. I can see though that if dropped hard, the lever might brake from the joint rendering the locking feature useless. Might not be best for constant pro use, but certainly...

    Portable Mechanics Set

Ditto that. You could put your socket sets on the cheap rails and hold them in the tool roll as well.

Sears has replaced empire levels with johnson levels.

While I have heard of both companies, I don't have much knowledge of either, but isn't Johnson a decent quality brand of measuring devices? I do recall that empire is made in the U.S., or was anyway.

    Portable Mechanics Set

Believe it or not, I have heard decent things about harbor freight's 301 piece kit, though it's understandable if your not interested. Amazon is a good place to look. You could always purchase a pelican travel box, and shadow the drawers with the tools from your other tool kit. Pelican's 0450...

    New tools

How does the sawzall compare in power and overall build quality to a regular sawzall? I mean, it looks identical except for the battery port. What I really mean is, is it basically the same construction and weight as a 120 volt sawzall? Also, is the sawzall a super sawzall or a standard? Nice tools!

why you need at least 2 of every tool

I agree, it certainly is handy to have multiple sets of tools. It also is handy when someone needs to borrow a tool. Never know when you might lose/lend out a tool and decide you need it!

    45 lb. of tools

Nice find! I love the things you can find at estate sales. Some of my best tools come from estate and garage sales.

    Vintage Craftsman Ball Pein Hammer

It looks like the "long c" logo. Unfortunately I am not 100 percent sure about the time frame it was made, but if I recall, the logo dates from the 30s and 40s. It could be newer though.

I had to buy it but have no clue.

That is awesome! A quick google search shows that they are used for cutting corks for glass jars and beakers such as the ones used in science laboratories. I would also agree that they were probably used for apothecary purposes. Neat find!

2000 lb scissor lift - What can I use it for?

I'm with the other guys. I always had thoughts about turning one of these types of lifts as into a nice work bench

    Reamer for brake line?

I use countersinks a lot for de-burring holes at work. A lot of the guys at work will use file handles to hold the countersink and it makes a nice handle to grip onto.

    Oilcan that works???

That's funny I found this thread. I just tossed my oil can because it leaked like crazy! I would wipe it off and set it down and within a few minutes it would have a ring of oil under it. The best would be an oil can that doesnt have a seam at the bottem at all, which is why those plastic harbor...
