    New build/sticker shocked

That is kind of my thought as well, around my neck of the woods that would be almost cut corners level of cheap from what has been going on price wise.

    New build/sticker shocked

I'm assuming pole building? Where are you located? To be honest that sounds reasonable to me with concrete, way cheap compared to what I've seen. But there is a lot of variables in concrete depth, bar, what type of insulation, doors and what not. So if I understood correct you will have 30x52...

    Stumps out!

That's the way to do it, I had a friend drive his 590 over and I pulled 20+ with that. Makes quick work of it. I couldn't imagine the time it would take to burn them out.

Steel is all up now, just waiting on a couple pieces of trim to come in and that part is finally done. Also tossed up some temporary lighting, it was getting kind of dark in there with everything closed in. High tech. They are just cheapie Barrina lights off Amazon, I've had the 4...

Funny haha. A little story time on that. So the raccoon fiasco started when I purchased the house. We had some septic inspection issues so closing got pushed a couple months, house sat vacant during that. Well a momma raccoon decided to move in the roof space and have babies. Not a huge deal...

Thanks, I went with something that I felt fits with the house. House is weathered cedar with the trim color close to the charcoal gray that the building is. So it’s kind of a flipped version of the house color scheme. On another note, I’ll never have another cedar/wood sided house tucked in the...

So the rest of the sheet metal came in. Down to just a couple panels left to put up. Waiting on the j trim for the door yet, but I think I’ll cut the panels and get them up to close it all in and just leave it loose around the door so I can slip the trim in. The panels around the garage door...

Thanks, my first time doing tin work like this so it is a little slow going. But the replacement panels for the messed up ones came this week so moving along again.

I'm still waiting on a few pieces of the siding steel, one of which is the other long piece for the peak. But now have it wrapped as far as I can go until those get delivered, which should be this week. Started working on the corner trim as well, first real shot at seeing the colors...

Went ahead and used one of the Land Rovers to take back the crate the trim came in. Had a $150 core charge on it. Also picked up the man door and got that framed up and hung.

Sasha isn't too ambitious in here old age, but does make sure she is relaxing in the center of the action at all times.

Exterior Garage, Shop, or Pole Barn?

I'm doing a pole barn now, but if I were to have to match my house I would do stick frame. I think you lose a lot of the pole barn/post frame construction advantages when you have to traditionally finish them

The driving position on my first Discovery is what got me hooked. Quirky. I've had some that have been at least 70% as reliable as a Toyota. But then I've definitely had a few that were not haha. I love them though. We picked the Range Rover Camper up in Missoula, love your neck of the woods.

Started getting the siding up, surprisingly the 16' panels weren't too terrible to toss up by myself. Then, unfortunately I ran into a problem. Slightly annoying since they were buried in the middle of the stack of panels, but I had 8 panels with a messed up edge. I tossed one up so...

Thanks, I think it works. I wanted something subdued that didn't draw too much attention since you can see it through the trees some.

Sasha chilling again. You can spot the green recovery rope up there that I used for the safety harness tie off. Only nice thing about building a relatively small shop is we could center that and didn't have to move that all day. Roof is all complete, probably a little over half a day of...

Started with the soffit and flashing, I guess that needed to be up before the roof. That was my first real experience with tin work, kind of fun. I still have some detail work to do, but I'm going to wait until all the steel is up before finishing that out. Sasha and I on our mandated...

Made some good progress this week on the framing. Have all the lumber up. Kneed braces, corner braces, wind braces are all installed now. Definitely strengthened everything up. Also built out the overhangs, just need to trim the tops of a few more posts. The only thing left to do wood wise now...

Hey, didn't catch this in time but saw there was some locals around me that were planning on going out there. I was finishing up framing the building this weekend so probably wouldn't have been able to swing it. I'm sure it was a good time.
