Anyone have a recommendation on a good blade to cut steel? Anywhere from 14 gauge to 1/4'' plate? I've heard Lennox is where it's at, however I can only find their bi-metal blades in 3/4'' width.... Any thoughts on the blade in the link below...

I got this today for $40, missing the stock stand. Came with some ****** homemade wood base I threw away the moment I got home. It seems to be in decent shape. The upper bearings feel a little chunky...I have plans to make a stand and re-gear it to cut metal. Does anyone know what year this...

I don't have an issue figuring out how to slow it down once I get it home. Just curious if it's a good starting point. I agree it looks cool and seems to be in mint shape

Would the band saw in the link below be a good candidate to convert into a metal cutting band saw? http://madison.craigslist.org/tls/5880144551.html It has a 1/3 HP motor, that spins 1750 RPM.. I am leery about not having enough power and the cast body of the saw flexing... Thanks
